  1. The first time I saw it was under duress, as I said to one of my friends (who loves Janeane Garofalo) that everything Janeane Garofalo is in is as a general rule - shit. However, he proved me wrong, not only with this, but also with The Independent.

"When I was at camp, my favorite activity was always arts and crafts. Or, as we used to call it: arts and *farts* and crafts. We used to make drawings... cave drawings! Which is my way of saying we were cave men. I went to camp so long ago, that I can remember saying "sticks and stones may break my bones" and meaning it! I went to camp so long ago that fucking Jesus Christ was my counselor! And my best friend hadn't fully evolved yet! His name was Ug and he walked on all fours! There were two epidemics when I went to camp: head lice, and the plague - the Bubonic plague!"

I might try and see it then, cheers.

I don't care for this movie - but I like her stand-up act.

  2. Sometimes its hard to be a woman

Giving all your love to just one man

    You'll have bad times

    And he'll have good times

Doing things that you don't understand

But if you love him you'll forgive him

Even though he's hard to understand

    And if you love him

    Oh be proud of him

'Cause after all he's just a man

    Stand by your man

Give him two arms to cling to

And something warm to come to

When nights are cold and lonely

    Stand by your man

And tell the world you love him

Keep giving all the love you can

    Stand by your man

    Stand by your man

And show the world you love him

Keep giving all the love you can

    Stand by your man

  4. mark and gary were the only performers of the night. they started at 9p and played until about 10:45. they sounded FANTASTIC. the entire set, and encore were acoustic. they dug deep for the setlist, playing one song from their pre-jayhawks days and one from the maria mckee album they worked on.

i can't offer much in the way of a setlist...among the songs played:

    nothing left to borrow

save it for a rainy day

    two hearts

    tailspin

    sister cry

    crowded in the wings

these men made gorgeous music. i never got to see the jayhawks, so i'm looking at this as a giant bit of luck. i'm going to see them again tonight. if i see anyone making setlist notes, i'll try to get some info. :lol

there was a guy behind me for the last part of the show who was in the habit of counting off the songs as they were played (2..3..4!), and singing along enthusiastically. oh, and he played a little air guitar, too. b/c i didn't notice this until late in the show, it didn't bug me at all. he was kind of rad, really.

    now--abbreviated review b/c i'm meeting a friend for lunch.

collin, i'll see you tonight, right?

  5. No wheels to ride

    No wheels to travel

No tracks to take on down

The road I walk is getting heavy

But I must still go on

    And in the night

    I hear the calling

    As the train goes by

Then all I hear is my footsteps falling

    Upon the tears I cry

    (yeah)

If I could find a better way to get to you

    You know that I would

No money lines my pockets now

But by the spring you know that it should

Well I just cant wait to catch that greyhound bus

That will take me back right to your side

    (oh oh)

    Can

  6. Orange skies

Carnivals and cotton candy and you

    And I love you too

    You know I do

    Nightingale

Prettier than anything in the world

    And I love you too

    You know I do

    You make me happy

Laughing, glad, and full of glee

And you don't have to try, girl

For you it comes so naturally

    Right here in my arms
