  1. I liked them until I realized they were Pavement and Pixies rolled in one, then I lost all interest. With that said, they're trying to shake that off from what I hear. This has done a nice job of washing my palette clean.
  2. My main problem with the entire album cover scheme is that the artists are using sentimentality to mask laziness: furthermore, it's not even true candidness, which just eviscerates any meaning and art originally discovered. At least Katy Perry tries to apply a theme and attempts to make herself look good (and she still doesn't). She's got a repetition crutch.
  3. In the running for worst album cover of the year. Otherwise, quite an ummemorable experience
  4. 2002. I heard Kid A, then OK Computer, then Pablo Honey, then The Bends, then Amnesiac. Originally, I had dismissed Kid A as an electronic abstract mess/collage. I had shelved everything by Radiohead after listening to it. I only came back to it 2 years later to admire its beauty, and this was true for all of their albums up to that point except for Pablo Honey. I forced myself to listen to it numerous times, but by then I began to feel the same aversion Thom had for it.
  5. I can safely assure there is nothing behind the hype. The voice is wonderful, but the lyrics are awfully bland and trite. Hey NPR, stop recommending Norah Jones while you're at it.
  6. Kid A Ok Computer In Rainbows The Bends Amnesiac The King Of Limbs Hail To The Thief Pablo Honey Pablo Honey is clearly and by far the worst album in Radiohead's arsenal: no other Radiohead album has blandly and blatantly borrowed from the Pixies. Sure it was catchy, but it was pretty uninteresting too. I'm not quite sure you're allowed to like Radiohead if you don't rank Pablo Honey last, lol.
  7. I'm not quite sure what happened in the last 40 or so minutes. Where was I?
  8. I think you've got it mixed up. Okay beginning, inconsistent middle, wonderful end. With that said, it doesn't parallel The King Of Limbs. It doesn't even bring about new questions about who the man in black is. I certainly don't hear good vibrations being keypaded in nor the horrible hit single You All Everybody.
  9. You know it'll just end up on their year end lists. Top 50. And they'll pretend they didn't rate it a 7.9, like Alligator or Songs For The Deaf.
  10. This record is intoxicating my life. The Glorious Land, The Words That Maketh Murder, and Written On The Forehead have not left my head.
  11. If he dislikes and or likes it, it's fine. But not forming an opinion and covering his ass with a blanket statement stating that it may become a legend in the future is just lazy.
  12. Both of these are gonna require another listen.
  13. Wait a minute? What generalization am I missing here?
  14. I'll simplify it for the rest: if you didn't like nor appreciate Amnesiac, you're probably not going to appreciate nor like The King Of Limbs. As for no expectations, all I have to say is,... "there can't be nothing."
  15. I think I'll input the first positive comment: this album is great. It's their folk/soul/dubstep/r&b album. You guys just came into this with rigid expectations.
  16. The gigantic elephant in the room is Radiohead's The King Of Limbs. I'm surprised I'm the first to post this image in this thread. I guess we're all in the Radiohead threads.
  17. Muse. EDIT: 4 tracks in, and it sounds pretty percussive with the stringed instruments made as makeshift electronic instruments. There's much more focus to instrumental white space than any other Radiohead album. Have you guys [Radiohead] been listening to Spoon, xx, and James Blake?
  18. It's Cuddy, and I think it's mostly the makeup making her look good.
  19. Gil Scott-Heron and Jamie [of xx] - We're New Here
  20. Rosie O'Donnell has more to say.
  21. I just saw their twitter feed update at this insane hour (not so insane for the UK). No freebies this time, it seems. -(
  22. Gruff Rhys - Hotel Shampoo Pretty cool and casual.
  23. It's the usual Sonic Youth noodling, and it's not out there since it's scored for a soundtrack. I found the music moderately good and entertaining. And yeah, that album cover is beautiful.
