  1. I've never been inside: flatiron Not sure this was ever posted last year.
  2. I don't think it will ever have quite as easy-going a vibe as year one did but I think it will be great. There's a plan in place to upgrade the city campground and I think they've added online booking.
  3. It's going to be a collection of spooky sounds. Happy October.
  4. There was an exhibit of his photos at Solid Sound and it was a pretty great collection.
  5. Bull Black Nova doesn't do much for me either and I feel it's all too often held up as something precious. It has a really cool sound-scape and great playing. However, the lyrics put me in mind of a high school kid trying their hardest to be dark while working on a narrative poem assignment...creative kid, good use of language but ultimately feigned. I can't believe Tweedy when I hear him sing it. And I'm a guy who always believes Cash "killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die" even though I know he didn't and I've heard that song like 50 million times. Most of what Wilco has done is
  6. Wacko's made with beets, that's where the red comes from.
  7. I just found this Explore North Adams at the Solid Sound Festival site.
  8. Thanks for sharing. I listened while drinking my morning coffee, which was nice. Here's a Glenn-centric Article from the local paper.
  9. I really do like the "drive in" image but I'm not so sure it was a fair choice. This is picky but when I read the terms, it stated no alteration and that it must be a single work. I'm being picky because I would have entered if I thought I could have gotten jazzy with Photoshop. However, good for whoever took the shot and shame on me for taking legal babble too seriously.
  10. Waylon Jennings--Honky Tonk Heroes is on the verge of perfection, for me.
  11. My wife and I are coming from more Eastern North Adams to more Western North Adams.
  12. Did anyone enter the photo contest? I wanted to but couldn't get my act together.
  13. There will be beer. I'm hearing a tent run by Budweiser and a tent run by Magic Hat, from a reliable source.
  14. Get yourself some Lynn Taitt and the Jets...And get it on vinyl.
  15. Don't forget that the space itself is a feature of the experience. It's a whole campus. We're not going to be spending the entire time on the "field" waiting for the headliner. Mass MOCA, North Adams and Wilco are actually an amazingly good fit, in the same way that I can only imagine Chicago as Wilco-home. I can't quite describe it but the character of this town is like a working class kid who got a scholarship and made it through art school...a feeling I get from their music at times when they'll take a folk song structure and let the edges bleed into abstraction (best I can say it right
  16. "WILCO Curated Film Series"? I hope they aren't talking Man in the Sand , I am Trying or Sunken; I don't think I want to watch those at this event. They wouldn't do that, would they? Rock and Roll High School...
  17. I recently discovered Deer Tick, the band with the alienating name, and have been listening to them a lot. I've also found myself searching clips on when I have free time. I find it difficult to believe there wouldn't be other fans in this crowd, so here is their thread. Discuss the band, songs, name...what have you.
  18. I want one of those bags. Here's an article with some limited information on staging; there's another Wilco-related article on the front page, as well.
  19. That's rough, sorry to hear it.
  20. I haven't gotten mine. I asked MOCA on its Facebook page yesterday and the reply was "as far as I know they have not been mailed."
  21. Another article in the Transcript for anyone interested, about how the town is getting ready.
  22. Bread and Puppet is awesome and good for the families. I went once in college.
  23. They just toured. Mr. Poon only recorded with the Victorian Salad Spinners.
