Early bird tickets on sale October 18 at 11 AM ET. This year there is also an option for Friends of the Festival tickets with some nice perks. Looks like camping and other lodging reservations are available, too. http://solidsoundfestival.com/

You guys should look into this. Trust me you'll like it too.
Yep - I was digging into their catalogue trying to decide where to start, so I pre-ordered that a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to hear it!

Tonight on HQ Scott accused Taylor Swift of stealing Shake It Off from Wilco. I'm starting to think Scott's a fan....
-
On HQ tonight, Scott revealed answer to question about heavy metal by singing "I sincerely miss..."

I have one if you're interested.

Upgraded to Gold Circle ... so I have an extra GA ticket (hard ticket) for Jeff's Saturday show at the Vic. Asking $90 (face + fees) via Paypal or Venmo. Thanks.

Today (well actually 2 days ago) I learned that I'm going to be a grandmother in November. I never have been before so I hope I don't blow it. Brennan and Mariela are giddy with excitement...so cute to watch.
Blow it? No way - you will rank amongst the coolest grandmas ever! Congratulations to you and the happy couple.

The End of America at Sevareid House.

I'd love to hear more bluegrass arrangements from Jeff's catalogue

^^^ That was gorgeous.

Nice! I hope we get this in Atlanta and/or Ashville. Thanks for the link.

Today I met one of my heroes, @TrueFactsStated. He's the reason I can sleep at night and an all-around good guy.

PBS News Hours had a nice story on Mass MoCA recently. No mention of Solid Sound, but a good look at the museum and town of North Adams for any of you SS virgins out there.

A brief little thought after about a week and a half of returning to normal life...
I've always thought that SS was as much (or more) about the people, the place, the vibe, the whole "summer camp" feel... than the line up or the music itself. The line up's tend to not match up all that well with my admittedly rather limited musical library. This year was the same in terms of line up - some very interesting and enjoyable acts, for sure, but a lot of things that I wouldn't go out of my way to see. And certainly the vibe at this year's festival was just wonderful - the "bubble" was in full force. More hugs, smiles, joy, beauty, and life in those 3 days than you can imagine. It is just fabulous.
But just when you think the vibe outshines the music, Wilco brings back-to-back sets which eclipse the sun, moon, and stars. They just crushed it both nights. Re-learned the whole BT album, just because we asked them to. Played the iconic YHF as a consolation / runner-up prize so that nobody felt left out or "electorally cheated". Came back the next night, filled in the BY/YFH "setlist holes" with deep cuts and diehard faves. Recovered from a mutant moth attack during VC to lay out a gorgeously spooky Bull Black Nova, which felt to me that it was just because I asked them.
So yeah, it's about the music, specifically the world's best rock and roll band, Wilco, playing at their best, for the people who love them.
Vince
You encapsulated the weekend perfectly, Vince.
I'm going to print that on little cards and hand them out to everyone who asks me, "How was that thing you went to?"
