  1. I agree too! SS3 was not as enjoyable for me on Saturday which I thought was way overcrowded.

SS1 & 2 were so great and I loved everything about them but 3 lost a bit of its appeal for me.

Of course, I'm going next year regardless, but it would be nice to not have such big numbers on Sat.

  2. the first year it was Wilco on sat night, Tweedy solo on sunday

the next year Wilco did two sets

the last time it was covers set on Friday and regular set Sat.

I don't think Wilco did 2 sets the second year. I think they only did one on Sat, and then Levon closed it out on Sunday.

  3. They all have been festivals so far. There's the one non-festival scheduled in St Paul that you mentioned and one in Queens in Sept which I'll be going to!

I think they'd be a great fit at Solid Sound. I don't think the Replacements would be a distraction or overwhelm the festival. I think there are tons of Wilco fans that are also Replacement fans. I myself found Wilco because they were opening for Westerberg in Chicago many years ago. Anyway, I wishing for it!

  4. I've been there. I spent a birthday there actually and really enjoyed it. I think you could make a great day out of a visit.  I had a great massage and bath at a gorgeous, historic marble bath house.

I'm in the food business so I was really interested in trying the food. We happened to be there during Ramadan which is a great time food-wise since they set up a whole, temporary food village every night after sundown. I had some delicious things like Gözleme which is a flatbread filled with things like cheese, tomato, onion. It was really delicious and I still dream about finding a place where I can have that again. They also have fantastic stuffed grape leaves...nothing like we get here. These are char-grilled and fresh with amazing flavor. They also have some great lamb dishes, but I actually got pretty ill on that so I won't go into too much detail about that  :stunned . I remember getting a fish sandwich right off the boat down by the water. I could go on and on about the food but I won't bore you if that's not your thing.

There's amazing architecture, ex. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia that are really beautiful. We took a beautiful night time ferry ride on the Bosphorus, sipping some apple tea in cute little glasses that was really lovely as well.

  5. Already have.

You could try looking in the Woodstock or Saugerties area or Phoenicia even. They are a bit of a commute but there are many airbnb listings in those areas that I'm sure wouldn't be booked up yet. They are fun towns to visit and have better restaurants, etc. than the Hunter area.
