Anybody know if there is wifi at Mass Moca? I'm travelling from Canada and want to make sure I have enough data on my phone if needed.
PS - I will also be at the midnight dinner! Sunday is going to be rough, glad things aren't starting until noon
Happy Solid Sound everyone!
Yes, there is free wifi and I'll be at the midnight dinner too!

And a supermoon on June 22-23 >> http://earthsky.org/tonight/is-biggest-and-closest-full-moon-on-june-23-2013-a-supermoon
Oooooh, this, I like!

It was found by a friend if mine. She already had a Saturday ticket but now she can go the whole weekend. Pretty exciting, actually. Oh, Wilco, you're always so much fun!
-
I have one golden ticket. Can't speak for anybody else...
Sweet! Congratulations!

It's not a candy bar. Snickers is a candy bar.
-
Candy bars?
Yeah, that just feels wrong.
-
Yeah, I need one of these chocolate bars too

It does sound amazing except for it's Saturday night. I will be to tired and dirty after a all day festival to enjoy it like it is meant to be enjoyed. I wish they had it on Thursday night instead.
I agree it's a bit late for dinner but it's too much to resist. I'm a local food enthusiast as well so that puts it over the top for me. Sunday wouldn't have been really good timing for a nice dinner and wind down from the festival but what can you do? The first year of SS we went to the Gramercy (the restaurant right at the entrance to MASS MoCA) for dinner after the festival ended and a few of the band members were there. It was kind of special to share the room after such a great event.

Just got an email about this:

We're doing the midnight dinner. Sounds like an amazing opportunity.

I saw that too. Hilarious!

Never heard of him either, but according to wikipedia he's on the Anti- label and he's from Troy, NY. I've seen some (misguided, I think) criticism from locals about the lack of local talent on this year's lineup, so maybe this is a sop to those critics. Plus, of course, maybe he's good. I'll be checking him out.
Troy. Yay! My hometown. I'm really happy to see some great things happening there. Finally.

I know. I about died when I realized what they were playing. This was actually the same 1-2 punch (Less Than You Think > Art of Almost) that they opened with when I saw them at the Ryman shortly after TWL was released. The transition works really well.
I missed Less Than You Think originally. I didn't wake up in time but saw it in the playback. Absolutely fucking gorgeous! I actually got chills and even teared up a bit. Just beautiful.
-
Oh wow! I didn't realize the show started with Less Than You Think. I woke up late and didn't tune in until Art of Almost.
So glad I got to go back and catch that. It was absolutely gorgeous! I actually got chills and teared up a bit seeing that.
Just beautiful.

I think Im the only person who thinks White Manna is overrated.
I personally love to stop at White Manna when in the area. The burgers and the whole scene is great.
My husband brought me there for the first time. He used to work in Hackensack many years ago.

Much prefer the melodic Spiders ...
Me too! I really never liked the song before at alI and couldn't believe how much I liked it after they starting playing this version.

and b ) I wonder if there's any chance of Beth Orton (a/k/a Mrs. Sam Amidon) playing with him during his set, or if there was any attempt to get her for the fest, because she is cool. Maybe she was too expensive...
I having been thinking about Beth Orton too and hoping she makes an appearance.

SO can anyone recommend great breakfest/lunch/dinner places in North Adams? I mean besides eating at the festivel itself, was curious if there are places you reccommend (and im referring to non-chain/fast food stuff).
I didn't find anything that great in North Adams or Williamstown, to be honest. The best food, coffee, bloody marys etc. were at the festival.

From a sign at the Supreme Court yesterday.

Thats how I felt. Which was a bummer, but it just made me listen to the Replacements nonstop! Haha..
That's pretty much what I've been doing too. I took a road trip this weekend and they were the soundtrack for the drive home. Great band!
-
Haha! I've already been kicking my sister's ass at Songpop. She's gonna hate this.
-
that would seriously be disappointing for me.
agreed

It's very well done. I was impressed. Tons of great stories. Enjoy!
There were some great stories and we did enjoy it but I was really craving some of the music at many points.
I don't really buy the director's insistence that he had intended it to be that way from the start but, whatever.
It was a glorious homage to a band that deserves all of it and more.

Ok so when I requested The Replacements, I never imagined Tommy Stinson would show up to play a song with them. So great! Thank you, Wilco. You're always the best!!!
