I know it was on the first Loose Fur record, but damn, they really need to release this one with the band performance.
Totally agree. It's become one of my favorite Wilco songs. The performance at Solid Sound 2010 was spectacular:
Oh and I think what's up with Mikael's mustache is "Brooklyn"

The clips are already up on the internet and Gina Gershon is still talking on Jimmy Fallon. How does that work?
(Yes, I know it was taped this afternoon, just surprised the clips are out before the show is over.)
Thanks for the link. Both songs sounded great. I love the small stage/intimate feel of it. I'm hoping we get something like that in the 1000 capacity Hunter Center at MASS MoCA next week.

I love when they end the night with The Lonely 1
That's always been one of my favorite songs and at the end of the set it leaves you in a peaceful, contemplative state of mind.
Kind of like what shavasana does after an intense yoga class.
-
I'm guessing Whole Love.
-
Lee's band was kind of boring. Everything they played kept reminding me of songs from the 90's.
-
Ok so Tweedy wore some skinny jeans tonight and for the first time in 16 years of going to shows I found myself distracted by the... nevermind.
-
Me! I was so happy they played it. That was the highlight for me tonight. Also great to hear Airline to Heaven.
-
My only guess is that he's trying to hide a few pounds and a few less hairs, but I wish he'd trust us to love him no matter what.
I think you're probably right. I liked the jacket/hat the first 5 times he wore it but now in this weather, it's getting kind of absurd. I guess it's become his touring uniform. I always thought he looked fine in just jeans in a t-shirt but who cares, the man is a genius and can wear whatever the hell he wants even if it makes me itchy to look at him
Can't wait for tonight's show! and MASS MoCA next week too.

I'll be there tonight. I'm hoping to hear the acoustic version of Spiders and also Laminated Cat and neither were on this set list so there is HOPE!
The weather looks like clear skies too. Yay!
-
Still available? Will you sell them separately?
-
but I think that room has the potential for a great, intimate show.
This is what I'm counting on. So looking forward to this show!

LOVED that version of Spiders!

Watching Van Morrison in the Last Waltz is pure joy.
Watching Rick Danko sing It Makes No Difference moves me to tears.
Yes. Totally. On both.

The closing of Solid Sound last year.
Brought tears to my eyes then and again now.

I'm just remembering something about Levon's performance at Solid Sound last summer. He didn't sing much, he was losing his voice but he still tried to belt it out and when he couldn't quite do it his daughter Amy would step in and join him...and it was so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes.
-
Great shot. Levon had an amazing smile.
I posted this over in The Band thread. I'm copying it here.
Going to one of Levon's Midnight Rambles is one of the musical highlights of my life. A truly amazing experience.
Seeing him perform with Wilco at Solid Sound last year was pretty awesome too.
There is something so special about Levon. He'll be deeply missed.

Wow, nice! It kinda sucks that I seemingly overbid but I'm in so I'm satisfied. Their tix are usually relatively cheap so paying extra once for a decent cause is alright. Better to be safe than sorry. I was thinking the same thing about them maybe not having enough bids. Not only it being a single show in a goofy small town but also because of the small bidding window they had. Would have made more sense to have bidding go through the end of the month or something. I'd love for them to give us the bidding stats, i.e. how many total, how high, how low, etc.
I'm in for Cooperstown, Essex Jct, MassMoCA, Hartford and Rochester. Looks like we'll all be seeing a lot of the same faces during an awesome week of Wilco.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. They should have kept the bidding window open for a couple of weeks. Then we all would have panicked and kept putting in higher bids

I haven't been able to call yet. Did they accept credit card? Are tickets will-call or do they send them out?
They accepted my credit card but he said they were having trouble processing them because their system was down so they were taking the info down on paper and will run them through when their service is working again and send a confirmation email at that time. I didn't even ask if they would be mailing tickets or if I would get them at will call. I suppose that info with be in the email.

I got tickets as a high bidder and my bid was $50 per ticket. When I called today to pay for them, they kid on the phone thought I got a great deal. So I must have been at the low end of the high bidders.
I don't think they got the full 1000 (capacity) bids. They were still telling people to get their bids in on Monday morning just before the bidding closed. I think it has a lot to due with the fact that it's on a Tuesday night in a small, out of the way town.
Anyway, I am super excited to get to see them in that small room. Yay!

Godspeed, Levon. In addition to decades of brillian musicianship, he was the narrator and Ridley in the Right Stuff.
Levon is certainly made of the 'right stuff'.

Sad news. We love you, Levon.

The Conan performance of Primitive Girl was really good.

I've been diggin The First Time I Ran Away a lot also.
I haven't caught the part where Howe is on the record. I'll have to pay more attention for that. I love him too.
I'm not a fan of his collaboration with Zooey but he seems super happy on this record.

It's really true. Even after many years and multiple shows they still find ways to keep us amazed.
