  1. OK the Shit has hit this fan (please consider this a Replacements Official Cassette "Bootleg" reference)!!!

The main guy I'm going with has canceled, but gallantly agreed to pay for his ticket if I can't get rid of it...but...to complicate matters, a group of folks from New Jersey who were going to go...now all can't. It was a family. Arrggghhhh...

    Sooooooooo...

I've got 4 tickets in the center 20th row (best possible sound wise).

If you're interested PM me, or email me at "HareDurga@yahoo.com", or heck feel free to call me at (585) 582-6331- I can always edit that out.. The 2 in the pit are hard copy & can be mailed out (but I'd recommend just meeting there), & the 4 in 20th row are will call, but I'll be there very early, probably trying to sell tickets, & I can meet anyone as needed.

I'll put the ticket details in later on...but I just need one ticket for me, as of right now...but I'm going to post on facebook & start calling friends in the region...so I'm willing to even part with the pair of pit tickets...sigh....

  3. Correction...Make that 8 shows, & in 14 days no less...whew!

    1) Camden, N.J.- July 21st

    2) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 23rd

    3) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 24th

    4) Manhattan, N.Y.- July 25th

    5) Cooperstown, N.Y.- July 28th

    6) North Adams/Mass MoCA- July 31st

    7) Hartford, CT- August 1st

    8) Rochester, N.Y.- August 3rd

    :)

    ?9) Columbus, OH- August 4th?

It's a Saturday &... it would allow me to see my old friend Michelle & her family (I'd stay with them in Akron after the show)...it's also about 6 hours away or so, & it'd be the last gig (general admission, outdoors) I can get to...looks like it won't sell out & I'm hoping that I could get cheap tickets to help me rationalize going...I'm betting by the time I've seen all the others that I won't want it to end & that I'll go for it.

After the Forecastle show last night I really started thinking it's more likely than not, but...I started thinking about it at all because there is a chance that I might have to miss one of the other 8 shows (we'll see- that's not confirmed yet & being that that situation is still up in the air I'm hoping not to have to)...

I'm now strongly considering going to

  4. Thanks again to "Shug" for getting the word out on this. If there is a webcast repeat, or it gets posted on youtube, whoever discovers that hopeful info, please update the rest- I know I would/will...

What a great show! It's got me psyched for next Saturday in Camden/Philly (even if they are only playing 75 minutes as the headliner, which is insane- love what they did with a mere 90 here) & I'll be honest...it also has me considering going to Columbus, OH the day after Rochester for a 9th show this tour.

  5. I am the oposite of you. I have a young son and I can't leave for a concert until my wife gets home from work. She gets home about 730 then I got to drive from NJ. Because of the opener I will make Wilco with a few minutes to spare... :guitar

Where are you coming from linclink?

Lima, N.Y. ...just south of Rochester, N.Y. ...

  6. Cibo Matto opening up? Certainly not what I was hoping for, regardless it should be a Wilco great show.

    1) I've got to drive home, 5-6 hours, right after this gig, so adding an opening act, almost no matter who is not a happy thing for me...I'm OK with Cibo Matto, but really would rather not have any one opening up...also because...

1a) Now not only will I be driving home later, but...I also will have to be standing up front in a crowded club (after waiting in line for a long time to be up front) to get to Wilco before the too long, too late, drive home...

    Ugh & Aargh...

  7. I think it's somewhat amusing how all pervasive their level of merch is, but...I also think in an era where there's less & less money made from album sales that it's a good way for fans to support the band. And I think that whoever is in charge of this that they do a pretty creative job of putting out interesting & wildly varying products stylistically speaking...don't always love all of it, but love plenty of it's designs & execution..

    A few other thoughts...

    1) I wish they'd go back & re-release some of the best shirts/hats/scarves, etc., etc. ...Like the one that was stylized like The Ramones logo...or Wilco (The Shirt)...they could post various old designs & ask for a vote on what go run again...or just do re-runs periodically...

    2) After having gotten so many great "fan club recordings" of various live shows, demos & unreleased gems that gave them nothing, I've been more than happy to buy some merch from them.

I dig the football/socer/futbol scarves (own a couple of each of The Whole Love designs) & was lucky enough to be looking at the official website when they put out some older Wilco baseball caps recently (I bought them all- 2 of 2 different 2008 designs- a blue & a black, & one 2007 cap as well)...& I've bought a vaious buttons & bumper stickers/stickers, a couple of older style scarves, a few t-shirts & one old baseball cap from what is, I think, their first ever tour (very cool)...but had to get all of these used/not from Wilco direct- and I'd have been glad to have given them the money had they had what I wanted....

  8. Looks like set times are posted here. I disapprove of the 40-minute break between the Avetts and Wilco. (Give us more music!)

    Dr. Dog: 7:15-8

    Avetts: 8:20-9:20

    Wilco: 10-11:15

Holy Crap! This truly sucks. I bought tickets for this because it was the first thing close by on the east coast that went on sale & I figured- in case they don't come any closer, & who knows how long or short this tour will be, I'd better go for it.

Don't get me wrong I like Dr. Dog & The Avetts, but man I'm there for Wilco & a 75 minute set really sucks.

Worst part is I have 4 cursed "will call" tickets, so I have to be there to get those...and with what "Three dollars and 63 cents" has to say about traffic & I lost my wingman for the road trip today (got 2 pit tickets & 4 about 20th row center), but...I'm still going with some friends & man all I can say is that this is the first of a number of Wilco gigs I'm catching this Summer, so I'll probably be psyched regardless...but this is really challenging...

  9. Gotta work T5 night, announced too late for me - thankfully have the Bushnell super-close to home for the intimate indoor gig

You know as I read you post here, I'm thinking you sound a little scratchy...like Summer cold scratchy...It might not be a bad idea, preemptively speaking of course, for you to consider calling in sick on, oh I don't know say the night of July 25th ;)

  10. Well, that's an honor as we met her at St. Aug and sat with her both nights in the second row at Red Rocks. If we could only coax her out to Santa Fe in September she would win hands down... ;)

Oops my bad...as I called her "King" of the 2012 shows...guess that should have been QUEEN!...but if you are a he, then you could be King & Queen...;)

  13. My friend and I attended the first 5 shows of the summer tour. After five sound checks and four shows with songs ranging from every album (and even a cover of the theme song to "That 70's Show" sung by John in the Missoula sound check) except Wilco (The Album) we decided to take matters into our own hands. We wrote a not reading "Wilco (The Album)...?" and sat at the front right where Jeff could see us. He saw the sign and said (out of the microphone so I don't think anyone else heard it) "It's contractual. We don't have time to explain." I figured this meant that since they switched record labels they have entered a period in which a contract is restricting them from playing songs off that album for a few months. I have no idea but this is my best guess as to why the songs have not been appearing... makes the most sense too. Wilco would never leave an album out for seven shows unless they had to.

That is really bizarre...but...it makes total sense...since, as I noted in an earlier post, they'd done 7 songs from this album earlier in 2012...& plenty of it in 2011 as well (even more actually- both in percentage of songs done & number of songs from the album)...It would be very odd for them to suddenly, totally ignore the album..If that's the truth, it's really a pity...If that's the truth, it's really a pity...especially since I'll be seeing them a ton, & it's my second favorite Wilco album!! I'm sure whatever insane legal parameters will pass after a certain period...so sad & a great example of the ridiculous world of legality as it related to music...

  14. What? No Essex, VT? No Newport, RI?

LOL...I gotta sleep, see some acupuncture clients of mine, & draw the line somewhere... ;)

And actually the 2012 Grassroots Festival (I'm a big Donna The Buffalo fan & they pretty much steer that show) is taking place July 19-22 right before this...sooooo it's even more intense than the 8 shows in 14 days with Wilco...and my friends The Hi-Risers have a record release show at 11 pm on Aug. 3rd & are playing on the beach at my fave local venue on Aug. 5th....whirlwind few weeks that is going to be for sure!

  15. Personally, for me it'll be...

    1) Camden, N.J.- July 21st

    2) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 23rd

    3) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 24th

    4) Cooperstown, N.Y.- July 28th

    5) North Adams/Mass MoCA- July 31st

    6) Hartford, CT- August 1st

    7) Rochester, N.Y.- August 3rd

I saw someone else did this, so now (I'm adding this the day after my original post), I'd ask what # shows these are for you? Nice if you can add the details of which tour, how many times a tour & if you can that far- the locations for the shows...for some this could be a rather long & detailed list...as one person has already mentioned that the 3 shows they are seeing this tour represent #26-28 for them.

I saw them for the first time in Detroit last December. I was so blown away & am so crazy about "The Whole Love", which they feature liberal amounts of, that I decided to go as whole hog as I could & try to hit as many shows within a 6 hour radius as I comfortably could.

Soooooo...these are shows #2 through #8 for me.

    Correction...Make that 8 shows, & in 14 days no less...whew!

    1) Camden, N.J.- July 21st

    2) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 23rd

    3) Brooklyn, N.Y.- July 24th

    4) Manhattan, N.Y.- July 25th

    5) Cooperstown, N.Y.- July 28th

    6) North Adams/Mass MoCA- July 31st

    7) Hartford, CT- August 1st

    8) Rochester, N.Y.- August 3rd

    :)

  16. You are the first person I've seen who likes Glad It's Over. IMO, worst song in the catalog. Now, the thanks I get....great song.

Meet another...I absolutely love the extra tracks from these sessions (though "Let's Not Get Carried Away" is probably my least fave), & I'm crazy about the whole soul groove that comes out on so many of the tracks from that period!!

  17. I've mentioned all of this before, but here it goes again...don't think they've ever released anything less than great albums (one of the rare, & longest such streaks in modern music)...also...while I love them all, if forced to choose (& fave is usually whatever I'm listening to at the time & lately lots of "Summerteeth" actually), I'd go with "The Whole Love" as my fave, "Sky Blue Sky" as rounding out my top three &, get this, "Wilco (The Album)" as my second favorite album of theirs.

Of the stats for the 2012 tour, they've just played slightly less of "A.M.", but "Wilco (The Album)" is 2nd to last & I personally think that has a lot to do with it being the second most recent album....

Anyhow here's the breakdown of what they've done off of it this year, & how often...

    http://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/wilco-23d6982b.html?year=2012

  18. WOW!! I truly wish this was the case...but...my bet is that the date fell through after the shirts went to the printer. It'd be pretty weird for another NYC date to be announced this late...but...you never know. Nothing on the Terminal 5 website, nor the Wilco one.

  19. I have to say, I have been listening to the new deluxe Ram album and disc 2 is worth the cost by itself. Rode all night is something I had never heard before and is just amazing.

I feel the same way about "A Love For You"...heard before this, but still can't fathom how it wasn't included on the original album...this whole package is just fantastic!

  20. Just got this in my email today from the good folks at MassMoCA...If anyone needs/wants a ticket, I got a membership so I could go without having to bid for a ticket, so I'd be glad to get anyone who needs one a ticket...don't know the price, but PM me here, or email me at "HareDurga@yahoo.com" (& get me your phone number for quickest results), & I'll do my best for you!!
