  1. Missed Glenn shy.gif but:

Best Autumn Defense show I've seen (Pat kickin all sorts of ass....closed with Sentimental Lady cover) dancing_geek.gif

Nels and Thurston - approx 55 minutes of straight NOIZE (Thurston playing w/ only his feet at one point) guitar.gif

Levon's band was tight and the ladies could wail36.gif

Levon encore (w/ Wilco) --- I Shall Be Released and The Weight, with everyone taking verses (including a couple by Levon) dribble.gif

  2. Friday Night - A Stormy Nels Fest

Saturday Night - A Breezy Love Fest

No repeats (cept "the single") was awesome. While either night not the best performances ever, Saturday night was the most fun I've had at a Wilco show since 2004 (June 8th - Irving Plaza - NYC to be exact). I was listening to that Irving Plaza show on my ride home and it felt very similar to Saturday night. Both amazing connections between the band and the fans.

    Pat, Pat, Pat!!!

  3. Couple quick thoughts:

Born alone was awesome. I was right in front of pat and he really got to shine on that one......... More 3 geetars!!!!

I wanted to murder justin long and the other clown

I felt like one of the younger dudes there (which is awesome, but I'm almost 38). Forget dad rock, felt like grandad rock...... Hoping there's a little more energy from the crowd from the get-go tonight. It's only rain people.

    Encore was amazing

I know there's no chance, but how bout no repeats

    tonight....a man can dream

Oh yeah, Finn and pajama club were great too......catchy as hell

  4. Finally finally finally got to see the original lineup headlining this past weekend's Brooklyn Northside Festival and it was one of most rockin times I've had in years. Pollard is just so rock n roll it's sick.

Not alot of good vids from that show (hard to shoot when you're fist pumpin and head shakin for 2 hours) but here's a good one from their Fifth Avenue show. Pollard signs a dude's baseball in between mic swings.

Have folks seen them at all last fall or this year? Wish they were playing more dates this summer, but at least I got to catch that lovefest. Nothing like seeing middle-age fans older than me headbanging and screaming along to every 2 minute classic.

  5. entire album streaming: dancing_geek.gif

    http://hotsaucecommittee.com/

Track 4 Too Many Rappers (new reactionaries version) featuring Nas is bangin', as the kids say.

    note from management:

Good people, unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, the "clean" version of our new album, The Hot Sauce Committee pt 2 has leaked. So as a hostile and retaliatory measure with great hubris we are making the full explicit aka filthy dirty nasty version available for streaming on our site. We hope this brings much happiness, hugs, and harmony. Enjoy Kikoos for life!

    Thank you, The Management

  6. I went to about 10 shows in 2004, and I believe I saw Paul at 9 of them. I'm pretty sure he wasn't at the 9/30/04 Burlington, VT show though (correct me if I'm wrong), because that was the only one that I actually posted the set list for.

It was also a treat to have Jeff single him out at that one Pines Theater show in Northampton, Mass.

  7. Got to chat with Vasquez briefly during a break in the NYC Middle Brother show and I can't remember meeting a nicer, more humble guy in my life.

Have very quickly become a huge fan of all things MG&V. The 3 of them are all so talented yet make it look so easy. Very psyched to see them all at Newport Folk this summer. Deer Tick's not on the bill but they have to make an appearance, right? Johnny Mac's the pride of Rhode Island!

  8. as great as Delta Spirit are live, i like Dawes live more... they're my favorite newer live band and i've been lucky to have seen 'em 6-7x in the last 18 months and they only keep getting better.

Wow, that's great to hear! Sunday will be my first time seeing any of them.

Btw, I can't remember ever listening to a song as much as I've listened to When My Time Comes. Just a perfect tune.

Release date is tomorrow. I'm really digging it. For those who don't know, the band consists of Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), John McCauley (Deer Tick) and Matt Vasquez (Delta Spirit).

Tour starts Wednesday. Check em out if you can. Had to push my vaca back a day to catch them in NYC.
