Re: the title track played here. Fantastic version! are they playing it more live these days? They didn't in Boston. It's quietly becoming my favorite song on the record.

they played 39 that year in boston too...."only" 35 at the hartford one i caught....hmm, i guess new haven wasn't my only ct show
even though they only played 20 in boston last month, it seemed perfect to me....the 'evening with' was a treat, was not without a number of lulls (at least the one i saw)
-
nailed it is right!
seriously like the best thing i've seen in, i don't know, like, a really really long time
-
this is way more fun than MLB analysis
just realized how awesome 6/23/05 in the rain in philly (also mmj opener) was for me
my first:
airline to heaven
kamera
sunken treasure
monday
outtasite
wow, and the only time i saw them in CT in 08 i got my first:
mountain bed (opener!!!)
pot kettle black
pick up the change
hotel arizona
red-eyed/i got you
completely forgot about that....damn, i better start doing some real work
-
i freaked for a sec when i saw the title....my work department is "Stats & Analysis"
great link....just motivated to do the stats for my show history....if only i was this motivated at work
-
i'm late on this one, but finally hearing their cover of the "tampa to tulsa" just made my month
-
getting updates from my only friend that scored a ticket to roseland ballroom tonight...they just covered "the one i love"....nice touch
also the first subterranean homesick alien since 2003!!!
-
have to side w/ mcguffin on this one.....ha, yeah right, but what's a thread without at least one dick
great post mr. crow, couldn't have said it any better
-
loved both nights...not as diverse as solid sound (to be expected) but still some decent variety:
just thursday:
ashes
one wing
ALTWYS
shouldn't be ashamed
she's a jar
rising red lung
hummingbird
via chicago
war on war
monday
outtasite
just friday:
poor places
pot kettle black
black moon
california stars
heavy metal drummer
passenger side
misunderstood
walken
red-eyed & blue/i got you
i'll take it...also converted another so-so fan in the process which is always a bonus...i've yet to bring someone to a show who didn't have a blast
-
the rain was nil for most of the set....only downsidee were the $&@"holes w/ the umbrellas up....buy some raingear people
I can't imagine being a fan of this band at the top of their game & missing this show cuz of a little rain, but maybe I'm the crazy one....just sad my mini-3-day run is FINA
highlights: poor places, funky funky pot kettle
black, Cali stars, super sing-a-log passenger side & again ALL the new tunes.... Not a fan of standing o on the album but live it's a hoot
-
Just drizzling ATM....was absolutely pouring earlier
After solid sound I know I can take (& still love) anything we get tonight....and doed anything really top misunderstood in a tsunamii
-
Yeah, they did their song for tonight many hours ago, but the webcast was indeed live (i was buggin' my buddy in the 2nd row w/ texts about what tunes were comin' next).
-
they're also replaying now if you missed:
-
For those who missed (think i got it right):
Art of Almost
I Might
IATTBYH
One Wing
Born Alone
Whole Love
Handshake Drugs
Jesus, etc...
Impossible Germany
Dawned on Me
War on War
Shot in the Arm
-
-
dunno.....but we shall soon see!
-
listenin' now stellar!
-
forgot my last highlight of the night: john's 3-foot leaps during monday/outtasite....don't think i've ever seen him that animated with his movements throughout a show
also, my intitial thoughts from solid sound were confirmed in a big way last night....pat's huge contribution to the whole of the whole love is undeniable
and how great are these new tunes gonna be at a solo show? the lyric/melody combination just wasn't there for much of the last few records
i also have both solid sounds if anyone needs....pm
Night 1: intense, rockin, stormy
Night 2: breezy, singalongs, storm-less

*** amazing venue, I'm an NYC guy but the acoustics & atmosphere rivaled anything I've seen at radio city, including wilco in 04
*** Jeff's solos (ALTWYS, ITMWLY) wild!
*** I didn't really mind the short set list as there was a great flow to the show & little filler (BBN notwithstanding)...probably helps that I'll be at central park & know those shows will be longer
*** played 7 TWL tunes & killed them all...one sunday morning, sublime!!!
*** cheers all!!!! hope to see many of you at central park...don't forget your ponchos!
-
Looking for 1 extra for a friend if anyone's got one. I'm on way to Beantown now so you can reach me by cell.

Anyone else think so. I just find it interesting that three artists i have a lot of respect for all put out a quality recording within a few months of each other after imo quite a few years of hit-or-miss outputs. Kudos to Beck as well.
