It's pretty amazing what the Cards are doing after all they lost.

Colleagues at work come back with the "no guarantee they win anyway"....of course true but there'd also be another guarantee, only 1 awful Gio performance instead of too.....as well as the added flexibility to the bullpen

id agree with this. the nats were never gonna win the title this year, which is why the strasburg thing never bothered me.
This common opinion I simply do not get...this isn't an 8th seed in the NBA...in baseball all playoff teams have a chance, that's what makes the playoffs so compelling....not to mention the Nats had HOME FIELD throughout...
I love the "we'll get em next year" people to...I remember Dan Marino saying that once too...no guarantees you get back ever, let alone next year...
They blew it, plain & simple....they were in first all year, they had plenty of time to re-work their Strasburg plan....the Braves had Medlen come out of the pen after his surgery & slowly built him into a starter....shit, the cards babied wainwright & carpenter all year so they could be ready for a playoff run, how's that workin out for them?

Adam Dunn (oblique) hopes to return Saturday.
Dunn is out of the lineup for the eighth straight game Friday, but says that this is the best he has felt since the injury. Dayan Viciedo will DH again on Friday while Alejandro De Aza plays left field and Dewayne Wise starts in center. Sep 14 - 4:56 PM

Although I love The Wire, Season 5 was a definite letdown for me. Without giving away any spoilers, the main storyline just got too ridiculous.
Similar to Breaking Bad imo, Season 5
Six Feet Under might be my favorite show ever....definitely my favorite finale

^^^^^^^^^^^^HOLY MOTHER OF GODD!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I was just coming in here to discuss this show!! I was 18 first time on the west coast and high as gas.
That Iko Iko by itself was close to the most energy ive seen at any show. This was the first and by far the best of the 4 night run and it was just perfect. What a night!!
My favorite thread

i've met a few people from all over Australia and all over the world (Brianne, for example).. all have been great people!
If I ever make it down under (how do you refer to us, up there?) I'd be sure to find ya froggie.....as long as whiskey girl joins us!
-
Although I've only actually met a few in person through the years (thou recognize many at shows) I feel like I've known the "all-timers" for years...Definitely a special place
-
Wouldn't mind "Nothing" in an encore, thou I'm sure those chances are slim
-
Jim was definitely at radio city but can't remember all he played on...he also joined jeff & Glenn at one of the TriBeCa free solo shows in 2005 for a loose fur encore....That was sweet!!!

I always thought Steve Miller's big OL jet had a light on....
Also thought Eddie shot perry with a pellet gun

I think crawford's got some good years still in him....got off to such awful start in Boston in every way (his play, w media, injures) & ur effed when that happens in Boston or NY....he's by all accounts a great guy & I think he's gonna have a lot to prove next year
that's carl, not Brandon
How's this for a crazy stat, my degenerate buddy had bet on the tigers 12 outta verlanders 27 starts
Tigers are:
13-2 when he doesn't take them
3-9 when does, haha

With everything I said above being said, I think this is by far (well the evening's with might be close) the best tour w this full lineup.... Red Rocks X2 changed my life again

I'll just say ditto to everything fellow mike & froggie says...loved loved loved this period...
....yet felt so awful for how sick Jeff was, I was also struggling with many issues at the time so although I'd been a fan since UT & loved Being There, YHF & the DVD is what turned me into super-fan-for-life...
