Hagar does a sublime version of "Stella Blue".

I'm in a quandry. I found out today that one of my college roommates passed away late last summer. The obit said he died at home. I havent spoken with him since the mid 90s but that doesnt mean I dont have fond thoughts of the guy. I'm feeling the need to call his family and offer condolences and ask what happened (as the guy was only 45). My wife says its too late. Is it?

Wabo Cabo baby!

I know.......maybe they have their rockstar status as a common bond? Perhaps thats why the GD felt a kinship with Hall & Oates too.
-
What is the GD's fascination with Hagar? I dont get it. I suppose if Tony Iommi can hang out with Brian May then anything is possible.

Reading Glen Beck's "Agenda 21". So far its hilarious, not sure if Glen and his ghost writer intended the comedic effect.

Thanks! And remember....I'm ok, you're ok. That there is what it is!

And it was the best hispanic transvestite bar in the city!

Wallace probably could've used an editor to provide some stronger direction.....that book is all over the place.

I got 170 pages deep into before i set it aside. As MacArthur said, "I shall return!"

I just found out that El Gato Negro on Irving Park closed. What is the city of Chicago becoming? I'll be in seclusion until further notice.

I dunno, his date-rape like antics in Meatballs (and a few other of his flicks IIRC) sorta bothered me
-
Oh come on, Bill Murray would charm the pants off of ScarJo in real life!
-
Jerry Seinfeld playing the femaie lead in Meatballs was a gutsy move for its time, eh?
-
Purely for transportation issues, I think I'm gonna cut the book in half and separate the footnotes from the second half. I'm certain Wallace will bear me no ill will.
-
70 pages into it and I get the feeling Wallace is describing his personal relationship with weed.
-
Go for it!

The prospect of lugging that thing on my daily commute is daunting. We'll see....I've never been able to finish anything else by Wallace so....this attempt may be shortlived. I'm gonna weigh it tonite just to see what it weighs.....I'm guessing 4 lbs.
-
A month ago I picked up at the library (1 buck!) Wallace's "Infinite Jest" which I've studiously avoided reading since its release in 96. I can no longer put this off.....so I started the behemoth this morning.

^ I'm enjoying this book immensely ^

Didnt know Alvin was the testy sort. One can learn all kinds of stuff on the internets. For instance, Lammy hates onions.
-
Recent reports have it that Alvin Lee died today from complications related to surgery. RIP Alvin!

Bravo Bobby, my hat is off to you!
