"More Than Human" by T. Sturgeon. I took Phil Lesh's recommendation on this book from that recent New York Times (?) article. So far, its been an enjoyable read. I like the idea of "bleshing". The kinda freaky thing is finding out that Vonnegut's charactor Kilgore Trout is somewhat based on T. Sturgeon. Oh yeah, Nightwoods was great, I loved that book.

Speaking of nicknames, I've known 2 guys who preferred to be called "Chops". Its a crazy world.
-
Odd nickname for someone who barely even resembles Sly.

Where do all the shadow people go?

Muddy looked and sounded great, Keef looked wasted and super cool, the Checkerboard looked exactly the same in 1992 when I used to go there. I gotta get a recording of that show.
-
Last night I saw some of that Stones & Muddy Waters at the Checkerboard 1981 video.......WHOA!!

Just started Nightwoods. Strayed was pretty good. I followed that book by reading AWOL on the AT

Just got around to listening to that November 1980 Nassau release, good stuff!

That one mook reminds me of Rocky from Mask.

And then there's that naked guy on the pole behind the stage.... Being able to actually see them play Dark Star at the height of their prowess is a thrill too. Gotta love the SSDD!

In terms of best, its right up there with hot dog trees and tummy rubs.

The film of that show is the best.

Sweet! They did their usual acoustic set and sprinkled in some of their new tunes off the new album.

Duh, they're into time travel, you know that. Kids these days....

Wait, some parts of the Bible gotta be worse than Moby Dick......And Herrod begot Leviticus. Leviticus begot Atticus. Atticus begot Snuffleupagas. Double ugh!

"Thirteen Moons" by C Frazier. I loved "Cold Mountain", read it when it came out. Not sure why I took so long to look into other stuff Frazier wrote but so far "Thirteen Moons" is an enjoyable read. Now I gotta look more into the whole Trail of Tears thing....

Indeed, that article is great.

All I'm saying is I'm horny.

You say that like I know who Joe Pollard is. Chet, the guy was/is a class act.
-
Heh, he said Lil' Debbie cream pies.
-
How come Chet Lemon isnt on the list? If memory serves correctly, wasnt he a percussionist with the band during off season in the 70s?
-
I almost took him up on that offer. The first third of that book was rough. I dont really care about his love of trains or electric Cadillacs or his challenged children. I'm glad I stuck with it though. Neil is an unrepentant hippie and I like that.

Didnt the Jethro Tull guy become a salmon farmer?
