Agreed. I spun my Floral Ice vinyl twice last night.
-
I hope not in this case! I couldn't wait for the vinyl so I went out and picked up a copy of the CD from Barnes & Noble. I have no use for TWO CD's!
-
Received mine last night. Haven't had a chance to spin it yet but I was impressed with the overall package. The art print is striking and the cocktail recipe sounds pretty good (with or without alcohol). I'll post again once I give it a listen!
-
This is will possibly get me to listen to 1989. Possibly.
-
Pulled the trigger on this. Not sure if I'll keep my subscription beyond this release (seems like too much money honestly), but I'll be interested to see the quality of the pressing in addition to the packaging/art print (not to mention I'm a total sucker for colored vinyl). I'm less interested in the custom cocktail recipe but my girlfriend is really into that stuff so I might actually give it a spin with the drink in my hand.

Also, did anyone pick up this beautiful poster? I don't usually buy gig posters but when I saw this one I had to have it. Need to get it framed! -

Amazing show. Star Wars really knocked my socks off. So much energy. You Satellite and Cold Slope were highlights and the outro of Magnetized really blossomed in a live setting. From the "oldies" set, I'd have to agree that Impossible Germany was extraordinary and the YHF songs (six, if you count Camera) had me grinning like an idiot. Jeff did seem in high spirits and had some good banter, like when he talked about his wedding anniversary before "Heavy Metal Drummer." I think it was something like: "not that this song has anything to do with our anniversary SHRUG but it's about something rom -
Love the album but I had to stop listening to it for fear of getting burnt out. Been 3-4 days since I gave it a spin but I am looking forward to seeing them play it tonight (fingers crossed). After that, I might wait until the vinyl arrives before I listen to it again...

Seeing Wilco at the Greek in LA tomorrow (August 5) then I'm seeing Jason Isbell at the Wiltern on the 13th and then BLUR at the Hollywood Bowl in October!

Do you think the full album performance of Star Wars will continue in LA tomorrow? Would love to witness this with my own eyes/ears! -
I just picked up The Whole Love and Sukierae from Amoeba Records here in Los Angeles. They were slightly more than I wanted to pay, $28 each. I mean, they are both double LP's on heavyweight vinyl WITH CD's included (which I really appreciate... beats burning discs for the car). So at the end of the day I can justify the expense.

Alone in the zone of the sad. Also, the simple but affecting, From where we end to where do I begin?
-
Awesome. Now we know what they are. Anybody want to take a stab at what they mean? These are some of the most inscrutible Wilco lyrics...
-
Yep, Glenn's bass drum was adorned with the furry little bastard.

Watched the stream on YouTube. Loved seeing the album performed live, it gave me a chance to hear more of Jeff's lyrics since his vocals are mixed kind of low on the album (not a complaint, I like the aesthetics of the mix). You Satellite and Where Do I Begin were the highlights for me. I don't expect them to play the whole record at the Greek show but I DO hope to hear a few of Star Wars' choice tracks...
