  1. I don't know if anyone knew this, but I have it on good authority that Good Old Neon is not a fan of Sarah Palin's. No confirmation, thus far, but my sources remain confident in the veracity of their claims.
  2. I like him. Hope he gets another chance.
  3. I seriously don't get the Mets thinking on that one. I mean, I know he's got "potential", but the guy is just bad. He's got no power, no plate awareness, and he's overrated defensively. At this point "average player" would be a smashing success for him.
  4. Mets made a really bad trade. Church for franceour? Franceour is terrible.
  5. So maybe we need to address why this is. Do you think it's by choice?
  6. Can you really blame people for sacrificing long term costs for hsort term savings? Who among us hasn't done exactly that countless times in our life?
  7. I'm sure he has many hobbies.
  8. Americans like things that taste good too, and variety. For some reason, the idea of eating the same thing with every meal is anti-American. But still, I'd say cost is the biggest factor to why we are so unhealthy as a whole. For many, price isn't an issue, and that's where youget into choice. And finding the reasons why people choose to eatthings that are bad for them is a task far greater than this board can handle. Getting people to eat healthier on the whole would require a massive restructering of our agricultural system.
  9. I think the jays are going to have to be overwhelmed to make a move, and there's only a few teams that could really overwhelm them. I mean, halladay is a lot better than sabathia, and the indians got a pretty awesome package for him.
  10. you aren't getting halladay without giving up your best prospect. He's got another year, they don't have to move him.
  11. I actually feel like during the last year of his presidency, bush mightve smacked her ass. I miss goofy senioritis bush.
  12. 'the media' would have said bush was about to rape her.
  13. the kids got a nose for money and complete lack of principles, so I guess that's a good thing. He's gonna make a fantastic politician whenever he figures out which side gives him more opportunities.
  14. Like 10 months ago wasn't Levi the butt of all kinds of jokes? Now that he's all pissed off and attacking palin we like him now? I hate palin, but fuck him too. He's an idiot who's looking to capitalize off of his involvement with her. And how much of the money he gets for a book will go to take care of his child, do you think?he's taking advantage of a situation, and if it was anyone but palin I bet tons of people here would be criticizing him.
  15. From a purely asthetic point of view, palin > Michelle. However, we've seen much more of michelle's melons. Mrs palin needs to step up.
  16. don't mean to be a dick, but you didn't answer his question, which was a fair and good one. The resources are not available at this time to Mass produce healthy, natural, 'alive' food at a feasible cost. There's a reason the foods that are cheapest are the worst for you. It's a lot easier and cheaper to feed your family on mcdonald's dollar menu than on natural, wholesome, organic foods. And that's not really a problem with an easy fix. Production costs are so much lower on prepackaged, mass produced shit that for a lot of people it's the only way to go. Maybe if we stop subsidizing farm
  17. Have they played this with her yet? I'm very excited to see how it turns out. I could really see vh1 grabbing onto this song and having that push wilco to the next level. This is precisely the kind of song vh1 would push hard, for better or worse. I love the song, but I could definitely see people not liking it.
  18. I've never seen a team meltdown like the dbacks did last night. They were up 7-0 at one point. We cut it to 7-3 with the bases loaded and no outs (just as we did the previous inning without scoring). They bring in a lefty to face Ross gload, a lefty. He blindly hacks at a slider out of the zone and grounds into a fielders choice that scored the run. The dbacks then leave in the lefty to face the rhb pinch hitter who absolutely crushed lefties and can't hit rhp, even though they had a rhp warmed up. Our guy hits a homer, and now it's tied. We then proceed to hit nubbers and bloops for 7
  19. I think there are too many references to love for this to be about a poor man Taking a rich man's place in war, though there are obvious allusions to that, as well. I think it is being written for a couple of people, not just one. In one verse, he makes reference to being paid, and in the very next talks about 'the love no longer here'. I don't thinK it offers one true answer. It could be about the narrator making a decision to fight for a lover who obviously doesn't feel as strongly about him, thus the 'you'll feel it in your heart, but not for very long.' I somehow feel like this an
  20. I feel like I should say something inflammatory about the Red Sox or steroids to kick start this thread.
  21. the marginal gains of picking up a Tony pena are greater for a team on the cusp than a team already doing well. You have more to gain by being just a little bit better.
  22. apparently you guys are shopping v-mart, and we asked about him. What's up with Grady this year? I know he was hurting, but he played 60 games. Is it just the afteraffects?
  23. Paul konerko had himself a pretty good game tonight.
