I would say the difference is that Olbermann is used by MSNBC as an anchor for stuff like election night and debate coverage. In that context, he is not supposed to be a commentator, he is supposed to be a reporter/moderator. Personally, I have no problem with them doing this to him as long as the policy is enforced across the board.
