  1. Yeah, there's some good stuff, but meh overall.
  2. The Phillies are going to have to win in the next two years, because they're going to have some absolutely horrifying contracts (Howard for $20 mil+ until he's 37 and Lee for $20 mil until he's 38).
  3. The best early example of Lennon's voice and the best early example of their three part harmonies is on "This Boy." that's a top 15 Beatles tune for me. Lennon's vocal in the bridge is one of my favorite moments.
  4. Super silly and then shit hits the fan at 1:45.
  5. I wish I lived in New Mexico, as they are playing a show with the Hold Steady and it will be awesome. I want to see these guys again.
  6. The closest thing is a little bit from Chris Rock at the end of one song, but it's at least attempted to work into the theme of a song. Honestly, he seems contrite about his worst two moments, the Taylor Swift thing and the Bush thing. There seems to be a maturity about him, at least more so than before. I think he recognizes that he really hurt his image. I've listened to it through a few times. It's really good. God damn. "Runaway" is amazing.
  7. Yeah. It might just be a situation where his physical tools are more suited to SS, as well. Who knows. Also important to keep in mind that defensive statistics are prone to yearly fluctuation just like offensive numbers, so he may regress.
  8. Baseballreference wins: If you go to the website and click the "we can't believe it either" link, it takes you to a ranking of their "Runs Saved" stat that shows that Jeter cost his team more runs defensively than any other person who spent even an inning at SS in the American League. Go voters!
  9. I would say the difference is that Olbermann is used by MSNBC as an anchor for stuff like election night and debate coverage. In that context, he is not supposed to be a commentator, he is supposed to be a reporter/moderator. Personally, I have no problem with them doing this to him as long as the policy is enforced across the board.
  10. Yeah, I didn't pay that article even one iota of attention. It's so obviously ridiculous.
  11. Most assuredly nobody cares about Miami. But everyone cares about the players in Miami.
  12. I am surprised by the lack of anti-Heat vitriol in this thread thus far.
  13. I don't think you can compare them at 18 months and say Bush had it harder. Obama has been fought tooth and nail since before he even took office. His citizenship has been called into question, people think he's a secret muslim, people have said he legitimately dislikes the country, that he is a racist; these aren't charges made by the fringe, this is stuff being bandied about on the Most Trusted Name In News ©. He was called a socialist who is a bigger threat to America than Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. And not by a crazy extremist on the fringe, but by one of the front runners for the
  14. Which ones? The ones who imply or insist that Trig is not actually her son? The ones who attack her family? Sure. But the same should go for people who believe ridiculous conspiracies about any candidate, or people who attack Barney Frank for being gay, or people who attack the way Nancy Pelosi looks, or the people who criticize Obama's family. Now the people who criticize her extreme political and personal views and experience and lack of qualification to be a candidate for the highest office in our nation? To me, that's all fair game. And to imply, as you have done, that Obama has s
  15. Amazing, so glad I bought the MLB.tv postseason package so I could see it at work. I really don't like the Phillies, but I'm a gigantic fan of Roy Halladay. He's unbelievable.
  16. I have chosen the Giants as my team for the postseason because I want to see Cody Ross happy.
  17. According to FanGraphs.com, that's the first opposite field homer of his career.
  18. I do not think that is true. If you gave them the option of doing their offseason job full time and baseball for free they would likely have responded the same way current players would.
  19. Steroids and baseball? Who put up the Bobbob signal? Hank Aaron admitted that he used greenies to try and improve his performance, and the only reason he did not continue to use them was because they did not improve his performance.
  20. I ordered a manhattan the other day when I went out with a group of coworkers and was given shit or ordering a "girly" drink. Huh.
