  1. Well with you are right, I am very retarded for not understanding your amazingly clear sentence structure. Keep on writing like a moron so morons like me will keep on misinterpreting you. Edit: I forgot, I don't want to violate your First Amendment rights.
  2. You heard him guys, unless you are in that 10% that can match his music knowledge, just give up and concede defeat. As for me, I'm gonna get out of this thread lest I get totally pwned by What Light's knowledge.
  3. Nothing different from Treble & Tremble, still a lot of pretty Elliott type melodies and songwriting, so if you like that I'm sure you'll like the new one.
  4. Hooray for Rhode Island! Though I prefer Southwick's, which is in my hometown.
  5. I am absolutely salivating over Superbad, can't remember when I was this excited for a movie. Michael Cena, Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow...how could this not be any less than perfect?
  6. The problem is that you are posting with an agenda. Of course people will have negative reactions when you just write-off a highly respected artist (around these parts) with some lazy lines about how RA is a carbon copy of GP. If you do something like the following, then the good folks of VC will engage in intelligent discussion with you: "You know Ryan Adams just isn't my cup of tea, I can see how others would like his GP influenced country rock, but for me it is a tad derivative. For instance, song X veers a little too close to song Y by Gram for my taste, the tone of the guitars/the ve
  7. Still my favorite 2007 release. Edit: The other National songs released this year are brilliant as well, Santa Clara and Blank Slate are as good as anything on the album. Here's some extra outtakes from Boxer if anyone hasn't found them yet, four tracks released as a promo in some magazine in France. http://www.sendspace.com/file/uwdfue Included are: The alternate version of Brainy with a different outro that was deemed by the band to be too similar to Slow Show so they cut it (I prefer this version though), a very rough Slow Show, and two unreleased songs, Rest of Years and Tall Saint.
  8. Hmm good point, time to make a new topic
  9. You backed out on the cause, backed out on the cause!
  10. Yeah, dementia and Alzheimer's totally suck
  11. While I prefer his brother when it comes to acting chops, I enjoy Owen's presence and think he has a great charisma and is pretty damn funny.
  12. Does any album with a picture of a single person on the cover just do it for you?
  13. I don't think this will be their last one, but my roommate (the most diehard Radiohead fan I know) is convinced this will be it.
  14. Led Zeppelin used to be my favorite, then it was Wilco, now if you put a gun to my head I'd say Elliott Smith. But it begs the question, am I just keep burning out on different artists or is my musical pallet just expanding? Who knows.
  15. I think we need to put a limitation on the number of periods in your posts. How does 3 sound?
  16. I don't really know. Probably not. They've been slowly slipping for a while. Itunes reveals all: While SBS I went through two weeks ago, I last listened to YHF in April, AGIB and Summerteeth in March and eons ago for BT and AM. I'll still pay to see them or Jeff every time they are in my area though.
  17. I think maybe the best part of this deal was that the Yanks didn't get Gagne. Should be fun indeed to watch the Sox destroy New York's pen and shut down their offense after the Boston starter comes out.
  18. I love Farewell to the Pressure Kids. Those huge drums, the epic chords, the killer xylophone type thing, what a killlller beginning. I love the strings and what he does with his voice at the 3:00 and 3:24 minute mark, then the shift at the end towards the DMST ending...just lovely.
  19. I've only listened to this twice, but it sounds really dense. I think I'll need to listen to it a lot more before I can compare it to Shut Up. Long live Wolf Parade though!
