The review quoted on the poster for Synecdoche said 'a miracle movie' and talked about its scope and passion. I was going to see it for Charlie Kaufman, no matter what. And that he had cast Tom Noonan in it made me even more hopeful. But, entertainment was not on Kaufman's agenda.

Something just struck me re: the scene in II where they're going over the logistics of killing Roth. Michael makes Tom Hagen says he's staying with the family and in the process disrespects Tom by mentioning his mistress. Not that having a mistress is a crime in the family, but it seems like something that's not spoken of, particularly in a business meeting. The way Michael does it though confounds Tom ("Why do you hurt me Michael?"). I've always wondered exactly why Michael acts this way - I chalked it up to him losing his trust in people. But I think it speaks to how he feels about the impor

I saw a DVD ad for that last night and it made me remember how much fun it is.

It's cool - I've been a fan for so long I may overreact to criticism. I wore my first leather jacket for the first time when I went to see that, and I asked the usher if they could turn up the sound. Also, I may be the biggest U2 fan who has never seen them.
