  1. This may be better off in the blasphemy thread, but Smashmouth's "Walking On The Sun" was pretty fun when it came out.
  2. Thanks y'all. Sneaker Pimps - "6 Underground"
  3. There's a song I'm blanking on - the artist was a dude with a name that I'm confusing with "Edwin McCain" and the song had "girl" in the title, and it was a crooner-type performance (kinda Bowie-esque vocals) with a fuzz guitar hook. It's become an AOR favorite, but when it first came out (96ish?) it was pretty cool.
  4. Spacehog - "In The Meantime" Space - "Female of the Species" Squirrel Nut Zippers - "Hell" lotsa "S" bands in the 90s.
  5. Oh boy - would that be something and something else too!
  6. I might be wrong, but I think you may have misread lizish's original post. I read this as "Rap haters - you don't get rap."
  7. That reminds me - I hate Justin Timberlake. Not meant as a retort, either. I think he gets way too much love.
  8. I didn't know about that movie - his movie reviews are the best thing about bobanddavid.com
  9. No explanations necessary! I love The Clash, but I love the spirit of this thread too.
  10. It helps greatly that The Raconteurs actually capture the spirit of the music that inspires them.
  11. Many people love hating The Doors more than they actually hate them.
  12. "I'm a huge Queen" fan who hardly ever listens to Queen, so I get my fill by listening to 'Hip Hopera' - and I know all of those songs, so yeah, that's probably why I like it better. I don't know much Flaming Lips, but they definitely have a flair for the dramatic, like Queen does, which lends itself well to hip-hop.
  13. Too much on that that doesn't "work." 'Hip Hopera' is nearly flawless.
  14. The Kleptones' "A Night At the Hip Hopera" is criminally underappreciated.
  15. Van Damn you just sold it to me.
  16. If you're talking about The Clash when you say folk music, I probably agree.
  17. That's cool - glad to hear new Busch didn't let you down.
  18. I had pretty much forgotten about this - never saw it, but it's a damn shame it came from those wonderful children's books.
  19. Ahh, last night I got to watch Manny send himself and Papi home on a Monster blast, in person. Sweetness.
  20. I like this thread - I don't miss the usual kneejerk defensive feeling I get when I read criticisms of music I like in other threads. I say viva this thread. Of course, no one's dissed Prince yet...so don't quote me.
