I heard last night on NBC News that the earliest these checks will get issued (assuming everything runs smoothly) is May. What I don't understand is the distinction between "$600 per individual" and "$1200 per couple." Why don't they just say "and $300 per 1/2 person, $150 per 1/4 person"?
