The "autograph seeker with no pen" stories remind me of an essay by Paul Auster, about when as a kid and met Willie Mays after a game, but didn't have a pen to get his autograph. Since then he's always carried a pencil with him.

What I liked about Anatomy of Hell was that it was so different from anything I'd ever seen, it didn't allow me to get beyond experiencing it in order to critique it. Had to hand it to him for that.
