  1. Hi Ronen,

I just want to say that when I read your topic title, I immediately nodded to myself, and said, "Why yes, yes they do!"

    I suppose I haven't been much help here, have I? B)

  2. Belle, you don't need to worry about it because I still had some good glossy brochure paper, so I went ahead and printed the art for you. It will be in the package I'm sending. But I still don't have your address......never got the email you sent :brow ......so please send a pm with your address, ok?

The rest of youse, if you need the Tribute Vol. 2 cover art, you'll find it pinned in the ELT forum. Great stuff! LLP outdid himself. :yes

  3. Hello, my little ragtag band of multitalents! :D I just thought you'd all like to know that Tony Margherita's office received their big box of Tribute 2 CD's a bit more than a week ago. I don't think copies have been distributed to the band members yet, since they've been tearing around on tour, but as of this evening, it looks like they have a 2-week break. So I'd suppose they'll likely be home in Chicago for a bit, and it seems probable that they will get their lovingly wrapped, painstakingly crafted CD's very soon.

Thought you'd all want to know so you could commence with the nervous nail-chewing. :coolio Seriously, though, none of you have reason to be nervous at all! These songs are, like, the greatest lost tracks of all time! Except maybe that goofy little version of "Monday" that my gang submitted...... :dance

The CD's look wonderful....LLP's cool blue art printed onto glossy brochure paper.....very handsome! Then each individual CD was gift wrapped in one of the wraps I'd selected: either insects (with a prominent bee, for all of Jeff's bee references) or dog faces (dogs laughing!) or firemen (Ok, that wrap I just fell in love with....but somehow it seemed exactly right for wrapping Glenn's and Mikael's. Can't explain why.) (We'll call that the "Through flaming doors" wrap.)

Congratulations to all of you on your magnificently-realized Wilco covers! You're more talented than you know. A toast to a job well done! :cheers

  4. Hey all, the downloadable cover art for Tribute Volume 2 is now available in the "Sunken Treasures Recording Studio". (Go to the main page, click on the Sunken Treasures building.)

Thank you LLP. :D Brilliant as always.

Hope the band will forgive me for their extreme makeover as gnomes. Sorry guys....but you look so cute.....and sorry Nels and Pat, the picture predates your joining the band. (Perhaps you'll consider that a good thing.)

  5. Hey Ms. Kidsmoke:

[hand raised in proper question asking mode]

What is the latest estimate for release of the artwork and the CD in d/l'able format?

I've told so many people about it 'round my parts, they keep asking me when they can get a copy.

    Thank you for your time...

    ckc

Chandler, bless your patient self & your excellent manners. :cheekkiss I fully understand why you and Aimee are anxious to be able to share your song. One of my favorites, for sure. :yes

We are waiting on a certain someone to finish up artwork, which I'm told is very, very nearly done. Then we start the tree rolling. (Cover art will be downloadable, the disc itself will be treed as before. Get in as a branch to get it the fastest.) My expectations are that we'll be beginning the tree within the next 2 weeks. Sorry it's been slow, but sometimes our real-life jobs & lives get in the way of our "play".

  6. cool! looks like i better get to work. oh, and if you want to put my real name up there, it's 'Simon Fazio'...

how do i go about submitting it? should i post it up on my webspace, or send a cd somewhere? i'm in australia.

Slow down, slow down, Mr. Enthusiasm! :D  You have plenty of time yet, since we are still trying to get Wilco Tribute Vol. 2 completed & distributed!

For instructions on how to submit your contribution, check the pinned topics (in boldface) on this forum. I look forward to hearing your song....have fun! B)

  8. Hi Ana! Great to see you around! Of course you may claim "Less Than You Think" for the next Tribute. After the amazing version you did of "When the Roses Bloom Again" for Vol. 2, how could I even hesitate! I'm sure your LTYT will be equally beautiful. :yes

Dave C., as to the progress of Tribute 2, it looks like it will be ready to give to the band by the time they get home from Europe. Liner notes & liner credits have all been finished, and the disc itself has been assembled into final track order, so distribution trees are imminent. Some tweaking to the final art will need to be done, and then it will be offered here on VC in a downloadable form.

Ana, Dave, and the rest of our contributors, get ready for the gushing compliments and sacks of fan mail that your songs are going to elicit. :D

PS - Since the requests are already rolling in, I've created a thread in this forum listing claims for Wilco Tribute #3.

  9. Oh, and Rufer? Love your tune! All these songs are done to a golden turn....you'll see! This is really a disc to be proud of! Contributors, give yourselves a pat on the back, because yes :yes , I am talking about YOU. :worship

Nettles...just noticed your post a couple back....no, unfortunately - the way the rules read, songs done on the Tribute CD's are supposed to be original Wilco/Tweedy compositions, not covers. So "Love and Mercy" wouldn't qualify. Please, though, choose another song....maybe a Tweedy tune? we need more songs for the Tweedy Tribute, Vol. 1. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me. C'mon, we need your talents! :D

  10. Hi all, having lost our Tweedy Tribute Master List in The Great Board Crash of 2004, it is time to try, try again. If you would like to contribute a song which is a Tweedy (not Wilco) song, please post here and let me know, and we'll start pulling this thing back together. Those of you who were already on the Tweedy Tribute list, let me know what song you had claimed.

Thanks, and apologies for the hassle. :rolleyes :

kidsmoke Edit: It's probably a good idea to restate the rules:

    TWEEDY TRIBUTE SONGS:

-Must be songs written and sung by Jeff Tweedy. May be from previous bands

(such as Uncle Tupelo), side project bands (such as Golden Smog or Loose Fur), or solo performances. (A song like "Pecan Pie" is a good example of an acceptable submission.)

-Must not be other peoples' songs that Jeff Tweedy has covered.

ADDITIONALLY, the following guidelines apply to submissions for either tribute:

-Songs performed on previous tributes may not be done, except where they are being performed in a style very different from the original submission. Such a song submission should be cleared with the Tribute organizers in advance of submission. (For example, if a song was originally done as a solo performer with an acoustic guitar on one Tribute, and someone else wished to do the same song on a later Tribute, but as a full-electric-band number, thismight be allowed. Ask, if you are uncertain. )

-Only ONE song submission will be allowed per performer, per Tribute. This is to allow as many people as possible to participate.

-Lastly, submissions for a particular volume of the Tribute will be accepted on a

first-come, first-served basis. Once enough song submissions have been received to fill a volume, that volume will be CLOSED and will proceed to the mastering stage.

Submissions received beyond the time of closing a volume will be designated as part of the next volume.
