July 2007, right?
Sorry all, but with the site in a state of flux at the moment, this is obviously not a priority. That's not to say it won't eventually happen, but we need to be on a solid footing before we undertake "projects" such as this one.
Just hang in there.

You can't force the willing. This research has wide support across the country. This is acting against the will of the people.
Strongly agreed, Derek. I'm so tired of this goofball speaking so badly for my entire country.
I have a moral objection to the government using most of my tax dollars to kill people whohave actually been born, while failing to provide for citizens who lack the most basic survival
needs.
The only thing that gives me any satisfaction in relation to this moron sitting at the helm is that
karma's got him in its sights.
It helps my broken heart to think this way, Tracy, so thank you. So many people and their families suffering, while Bush claims the moral high ground.

Play nice, kiddos.
Remember that on a message board you can't hear peoples' tones, so it's easy to take offense where none was intended.
Cortez, hope you loved your first Wilco show.

I agree with it being way too early for there to be a book about wilco. however, you're a bit off on your assumption that he was trying to sell a lot of copies around the time of the film.
I Am Trying to Break Your Heart (2002)
Wilco : Learning How to Die by Greg Kot (Paperback - Jun 15, 2004)
details, detailsminutiae
No, he's right though......the film and the book weren't particularly close together, and I don't think Kot was trying to ride Sam Jones's coattails....I think it just seemed to Kot that a book about Wilco had an audience at that time, since YHF had heightened their profile.
Kot is a fan and I think in that we were lucky, because he wasn't some "Tiger Beat" type outsider trying to make a quick buck...he was a genuine admirer trying to tell their story accurately.

purple umbrella and a fifty cent hat misses cool rides out in her aged Cadillac
I was just asked if I could provide some bootlegs for his research.

The best part of the book is Kidsmoke being named in the acknowledgements.

I liked the book and know that a lot of research effort & hours went into it. Chapter 10 is a good one.

helluva lovely tune.

im horribly un-earth friendly and actually drive to work. if i did take the train, though, it would be blue. but not that segment. so, yeah, im okay.
Excellent! Hi Alison!

Not that a derailment is good news either, but I hope the initial belief that it's a derailment and nothing more sinister prove to be right.
I haven't heard of any serious injuries. That's good news.

Scary stuff, this:

Not a good day in the world of transit, is it?

the one week rule should be implemented for MP3s of new songs too
Yeah, that's only reasonable since they are from whatever taper captured that particular night. But oh, isn't patience a bitch when it comes to hearing the new ones!
Try to give it a few days, people.
-
Somebody obviously had a great time at this concert!
Don't worry, Jimcamel, it's likely to turn up soon, but as the previous two posters have pointed out, it's considered rude to ask about a taped show until at least a week has passed, since tapers have lives too, and also need time to work on their recordings before sharing them with the rest of us lucky and appreciative listeners.
Try to be patient & good things will surely come your way.

you really should! i've never been in elliott, but i hear the acoustics are great. plus, you could then make the short trip to lansing friday night. or, who knows? maybe there will be a chi-town one in between the two???
it would be amazing to meet in person the great girl who keeps our favorite band's forum interesting and informative!
You, my dear, are a sweetheart.
-
Someone really ought to convince me to come.
-

blasting fonda and I are in the same group and are doing hotel arizona together

did anyone capture the webcast? my brother went to the show last night and couldn't have been more excited when i told him the show was webcast. he actually got to meet jeff tweedy after the show too said he was a relly cool guy just kind of tired lol
How cool! I'm sure Jeff was gracious as always, but his leg was probably killing him!
WilcoWorld will be putting the webcast up in its "Roadcase' in the next few days, so you & your brother can look forward to that.
I'm sure a taping of the show will emerge before long also.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. I thought The Late Greats ended tonight's show perfectly. A good, quick little pop song to wrap things up nicely.
Yeah, it packs a good little power-pop rock 'n roll punch. I loved it tonight.
-
It's so great because of how deadpan the author is.
That sounds fun.

If I did win the contest, Donna, I pass my shows to Kalle (new favorite Wilco fan).
goodnite all...Happy 4th !!!!
That's very sweet of you, parisisstale!
Kalle, you will be receiving two live Wilco shows of your choice, since parisisstale, our winner, has generously offered to pass his winnings on to you!
I'll pm you soon, Kalle!
'Night everybody! That was a blast!

The Best Band........AMEN.
Like every Wilco concert, I hate for it ever to end. Damn these guys are great.
-
I haven't gotten anything done that I was supposed to, tonight. Ask me if I care.
Not even a tiny bit.
I'd rather be sitting here with my friends with a huge grin on my face and screaming at my computer. Happily.
I love you guys.

The implications of this are mind-boggling and deeply sad.
