  1. I saw the Scenestars article before I saw this thread and wouldn't have linked to it because of the pictures, nothing I said was done consciously just to be a dick. I was going to go back and edit my initial comment out but since it's already been quoted it wouldn't make much sense. Maybe just lock the thread or delete posts you find offensive and let it go at that.

Fair enough....let's just drop the nastiness. Jethro, I'll edit anything you want edited out, if you let me know what. I can do quotes too. I don't think anyone is particularly trying to be a dick....I think we are all bored, dog days of summer & all that, no new album for a bit yet....and we just forget ourselves & say things that maybe aren't too kind. :blush It happens. But let's let it go now. B)

  2. Jesus F*cking almighty, people, give it a rest, seriously. This is as tiresome as it gets. First of all, Jeff isn't just a rock star, he's a goddamned human being....his weight is thoroughly his own business. Can we not sink so low as to discuss crap like this as though it is our business? Don't you people have lives? Secondly, the childish sniping has really got to go. We can't all love each other, and probably aren't even all going to like each other, but we all do have it within our power to live and let live....and be mature enough to ignore some of the inevitable bullshit that people are wont to post, just to get attention.

That said, could some of you mean assh*les find another place/way to release all that pent-up hatred you apparently carry? The world, and life, are plenty difficult enough just by their very nature, without mean people who have an apparent need to stir things up. How is that gratifying? I'll never understand it, as long as I live. Mean people suck.

So can we drop the shitty behavior? Please? Thank you. :thumbup

Oh, and the Blisters ROCK. :rock

  3. To be honest, that's why this place is one of the coolest places in cyberspace, imo :thumbup

I know it's one of the reasons I like coming here.

    Tanks,Kidsmoke :yes

    Scott

Well thank you, Scott! :cheekkiss Yeah, I think VC manages better behavior than many online sites, especially where things of such an impassioned nature are being discussed.

  4. If only the admins could solve the problem over there as easily as they can here.

Man, I wish. This is such heart-tearing stuff. :no For myself, I do my bit by trying to stay as informed as possible, trying to see all sides, and then supporting politicians who I think can make things better. I share with all of you who've posted in this thread the enormous frustration and pure sadness of the Israel/Lebanon situation. Of course I don't mean to make light of any of that situation!

I do hope we can manage a discourse here at VC that shows us to be intelligent and caring people, and I hope we can keep the slings and arrows to a minimum.

And again, Look busy, the boss is coming......he's gonna need you to go ahead and come in Saturday.... B)

  5. Oh well hi back. I predicted a ton of songs!

You clearly have psychic abilities! :omg Very impressive.

I'd like to second the :worship :worship :worship for all of Jesse's good work! Thanks so much, Jesse!

Oh, and for someone who asked back there a ways, Rosie is a VC'er who has been with us from this board's earliest days, when she was a mere 14 years old (right, Rosie?) but already had remarkably good musical tastes thanks to parents (Hi Louie!) with excellent musical tastes as well. These days Rosie is all grown up and goes to college.

    Hi Rosie! :cheers

  6. I'd say the highlight for me, too, was Walken. Sounded great, especially with the horns. I like how Nel's shirt, Glenn's kit, and Jeff's coat all matched. I also appreciated Jeff's attempt at reviving the much-revered-yet-seldom-ballsy-enough-to-sport leprechaun look. Erin Go Bragh!

    :lol

Killer show. Makes me long even more for a local show. C'mon Jeff, don't you miss CA about now? Come visit....the heat wave has broken, and the beaches are lovely right now. :thumbup

  7. I taped the first two shows (Toronto and Ontario) of the tour at the request of their soundman. When I send them to the band, I will ask if it is ok to share with the public. Both recordings are straight off the board. The 1st night is missing the first two songs and the 2nd night has some flaws that I should be able to correct. I will keep you "posted".

    Great news! :cheers

  8. kidsmoke-

I just found this on the dime:

The M's (Ottawa Blues Fest) 2006-07-15

    http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=104769

i'm downloading it now, shoot me a PM if you can't grab this yourself and want me to send you a copy.

Thank you very much!!! I'm downloading it at this very moment. :thumbup

I'm unfamiliar with Dr Dog, but I'll look into them. Thanks for the tip.

I agree with you about Future Women....what a terrific album! :worship :yes :wub

  9. Probably a good thing no one got any pictures of the rest of the night. ;)

Sez who? I did get a bunch but they aren't great. A few decent ones though. Rosie, I really will try to get those to you soon! Look for a pm before too long, ok? :cheekkiss

We now return you to your regularly scheduled airing of "The Wiggles".

  10. Sarah has not been to any more, but still talks about that pair of shows as if it was yesterday.

Wait a minute; that wasn't yesterday? :brow

Hi Chris, hi Sarah, hi Clay!!! :cheekkiss We need us another midwest roadtrip! I love that photo of Alissa, Sarah, and their doting "Uncle Jeff".....happy memories! In fact I have a copy here beside my computer.

Remember Alissa, fresh from howling about how hot those beef sticks we'd bought turned out to be.....we'd had to buy her a drink to recover from them!!!......then Jeff strolls up, and the first thing Alissa did was offer him a beef stick????!!! :lol :lol :lol

Good thing he was smart enough to decline! I'd have felt bad if that night's show had had to be cancelled because Jeff's throat was on fire. :o

  11. Good to hear. I miss Ms Y muchly.

Donna -- how are you doing in all that heat??

Much, much better, thank you.....for a while I seriously thought I was going to die, as our house has no air conditioning - only an evaporative cooler which is nearly worthless in high humidity (which we had along with the intense heat). For days and days, we couldn't get the interior of the house cooler than 85 degrees.....maybe 80 at night!!!! It was horrible, I just dragged around uselessly. We took to going to stores just to be in some air conditioning! :lol

But it's nice now.....the heat has broken, and in fact today it looks like winter outside....full gray cloud cover! Weird. Very nice though! So of course today we are heading out to the beach, haha. (In Tom's new car, did I mention that Edie? The one you checked out the VIN # on? It's a beaut :thumbup ....better even than the one he lost in the accident! So :cheekkiss to you for your help!)

  12. alright... that went quicker and less painless than expected...

    *crosses fingers*

if the forum gives you errors over the weekend i apologize, i'm out of town all weekend w/ very shoddy dialup access

go outside and enjoy the nice weather (don't forget the sunscreen ;))

less painless......so, a double negative, which would mean.....ouch, right? :brow

We love you solace. Thanks for your technological superglue which keeps VC thrumming along. :cheekkiss
