  1. The expression is "tone deaf", but I totally agree with what you're saying
  2. I said "economically diverse". I didn't realize that people of color had to be included to provide economic diversity. Ouch.
  3. Ugh... get over yourself. you're writing off a whole group of (pretty econimically diverse) people... the same people you assume would write you off. Tanglewood generally has tickets at many price points, and with a few exceptions, it tends to be a pretty casual atmosphere... lounging, snacking, listening to music. better than some stuffy concert hall, IMO. try it again - i have a feeling people will be letting their hair down at a wilco show a little more than, say, a BSO concert.
  4. if you're wondering about the drummer in the video - that's Greg Wiz....
  5. You are such a badass. You've mentioned this, like, 3 times.
  6. Let me guess - you're not guessing. You read the blog too.
  7. Way to make your point! Well played.
  8. Agreed. And Geoff Koch ... I'd like to amend my earlier post about your old posts... They're merely pretentious. You are so holier-than-thou. It rubs people the wrong way.
  9. Um... you're kind of proving your adversary's point here...
  10. Fair enough. And you're right - THAT would be fanatical. But I think speculating on the religion of a band whose writings have some religious overtones is totally reasonable. My point is that people on here are so quick to judge and jump down peoples' throats. It's a very holier-than-thou attitude... no pun intended.
  11. He's NOT providing a service if he is constantly attempting to censor thread topics. I've said this before - this is a forum meant as a platform to foster discussions on WILCO. Anything Wilco-related is fair game. If you don't want to participate in a discussion about where the loft is, or what religion Jeff practices - then don't! But please, stay out of it and stop trying to control the topics on a public forum. Sheesh.
  12. Oh!! If I had known I wouldn't have said anything. I'm so so sorry. I had no idea.
  13. you're right. i bet about 26,000 of them include the words: Previous thread on this topic.
  14. i guess as someone with over 28,000 posts on this board, you would be qualified to teach us what a fantatic is. apologies.
  15. You guys are really too hard on new posters. And you're all just SO above caring about Wilco members' personal lives, right? That's why you avoid ALL discussion of anything but their music. Please. Take a look back at any of your older posts and you completely contradict yourselves. Lay off this guy ... it was an innocent question. You may like to think you're all the keepers of the Wilco gate, but they are public figures, and this is a public forum.
  16. Me too I asked my boyfriend why he couldn't get better seats. Slacker.
  17. I caught the Boston show too - it was excellent. Ron's voice was in fine form, and Nick Lowe is hilarious. One of the great songwriters... It didn't hurt that we had great seats!
  18. "So" by Peter Gabriel "Ron Sexsmith" by Ron Sexsmith "Achtung Baby" by U2 3 of my all-time favorites -- the guy's a genius.
  19. I've heard it a bunch of times - my friend works for their label- and the album is great!! It's getting a positive response from press so far, and I happen to love it more each time I hear it. Maybe just 1 or 2 annoying songs ... the rest? Great.
  20. wow - you guys must be old pros at booking wilco. good thing we have your advice.
  21. I'll bet the sound was better near you, since you were right next to the board. That's always a good spot for sound. We couldn't hear bass or bass drum practically at all. keyboards were high, which was fine with me. And you couldn't miss Nels' guitar-isms assaulting (in a good way) your ear drums. So good. I was at Elvis Costello too, and I agree
  22. I think people figured out what to do. I mean, it's a rock song. Not too complicated - everyone I saw was dancing and rocking out. Great show - the macrame owl was funny. The sound mix was so-so. And Jeff had the jumbotron camera do a closeup of two pimples on his chin. You could see them on the big screen He said "I finally hit puberty!"
