  1. Yeah, this should have happened 8-10 years ago.
  2. How come they don't say who these players and analysts are, or how they did?
  3. That was hard. I got 27, and a few were total guesses.
  4. Wow, the first answer and we already have a winner.
  5. What the hell do they want with Royce Clayton? He was never great to begin with, and what little talent he had before has diminished over the last 10 years to the point that I'm surprised he's even still in the majors.
  6. I don't think it has as much to do with the All Star game as it does with the fact that Wright plays in New York where there are way more people who may in turn vote for that unscientific poll. That being said, I don't think it's all that ludicrous to think that Wright is a better hitter than Cabrera. Cabrera makes a little more contact, Wright has a little more power. Neither of them have been around long enough to really know just how good either one of them will be, but at this point I think they're pretty comparable to each other.
  7. Speculation mounting on possible Bonds perjury indictment By DAVID KRAVETS, AP Legal Affairs Writer Wednesday, July 12, 2006 (07-12) 15:20 PDT San Francisco (AP) -- With the grand jury investigating Barry Bonds apparently nearing the end of its term, speculation has swirled around the possibility that one of the game's greatest sluggers could be indicted for perjury or other crimes. Last week, a federal judge who ordered Bonds' personal trainer jailed for refusing to testify against the San Francisco Giants star said the grand jury's probe into whether Bonds lied under oath abou
  8. Aubrey Huff was traded to the Astros today. I was sort of hoping the Tigers would get him. Now I'm just hoping that the 'Stros will put him in the outfield rather than 3B, because as a fantasy owner, I'm still holding onto hope that Morgan Ensberg is going to turn it around this year (although for the last month or so Ensberg has been riding the pine for me while Youkilis has started in his place).
  9. For those of you who hate Fox baseball broadcasts as much as I do, Salon.com's King Kaufman's article today is a pretty excellent breakdown of why they suck. I love that guy.
  10. Plus, you know "This one counts" and all that garbage....gotta save some players for extra innings.
  11. By the way, since I haven't seen it mentioned here yet...on PTI earlier today, they were talking about how it is now very likely that Barry Bonds is going to be indicted.
  12. I'm just glad that Hoffman did that in the All Star game instead of in a game that counts. He's on my fantasy team. I'll give him his due. That was a key hit. But that doesn't mean that Travis Hafner wasn't more deserving of the roster spot.
  13. There's definately some perks that go along with the city or the suburbs. I love living in the city (I lived in the suburbs of Detroit for waaaay too long), but I think if I had a kid I'd probably want to be in the suburbs too. On my way to work in the morning, I've occassionally seen parents getting off the Red Line with their kids to take their kids to school, and that just strikes me as being so difficult. Dealing with all the people on the train and in the streets can be tough enough alone, but trying to take care of a little kid amongst all that really can't be easy.
  14. I actually stumbled on that clip accidentally. I was trying to find the clip during last night's Homerun Derby, where Harold Reynolds, upon being informed by David Ortiz that it is Ortiz's son's birthday, tells the little boy "Feliz Navidad" (Merry Christmas). Didn't find it, but ended up finding that instead. It's pretty unbelievable. His initial leadoff is one of the biggest I've ever seen, and he was almost all the way home before Johnson had even lifted his leg all the way up. Unbelievable. I'm glad that didn't happen when Johnson was on the Tigers. How embarrassing for him.
  15. Yeah, I must have missed it. I remember a while ago you mentioning planning a move, but somehow I didn't catch on that it had happened. Lombard is one of the few suburbs that I've actually been to. Nice area.
  16. In case any of you haven't seen it, here's Carl Crawford stealing home last week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxw4BwVXa3o...carl%20crawford Unbelievable jump.
  17. IMO, "D. Boon" sounds like it should be a Meat Puppets song. Even the vocals sound like Curt Kirkwood.
  18. I signed in here specifically to comment on that, but I see you beat me to it. Wow. That might have been one of the funniest things I've ever seen. That jazz saxophone from the street musician was the icing on the cake.
  19. I don't think I've ever even been on the Blue Line. That's some scary stuff though. I sure hope everyone on that train ends up being okay.
  20. Wow, Fox managed to turn a profile of one of the games greatest young stars into a commercial for one of their shows. Amazing.
  21. That's got to be the fastest a show has ever been uploaded. Wow.
