Yeah, he's been here long enough that, even if there's some accuracy to what he said, he should be fully aware of the implications that that word carries in this country.

I think it's still way too early to decide on that trade. Depends on how the rest of this year turns out for the Braves, as well as how well the rest of Marte's career turns out. It's still way too early to declare him not to be a total bust. If he ends up as good as the hype dictated he was supposed to, then yeah, it was probably a bad move, but I don't know how you can be sure it was a bad move at this point, before Marte has even really established himself.

He pitches for the Angels. I'm guessing the Braves will take care of ruining it for you, in time. But yeah, gotta enjoy it in the meantime.

It's because they're trying to trade big brother Jeff. They had to send Jered down so that they don't look too desperate. The younger Weaver will be back up before the All-Star break, if not before the end of the month.

Eh, a couple weeks ago there were some rumors floating around that they were going to trade him to Philly for Aaron Rowand, but that rumor has gotten sort of cold so maybe it's not happening anymore.

Wow, I didn't know Garland came up through the Cubs organization. I got all excited for Kenny Rogers' double today (made more exciting by the fact that, other than that one swing, he never took the bat off his shoulder), but Garland definately wins as far as exciting at bats for American League pitchers today.

I made it to the game today too. Wow, what a fun game. 8 homers. gotta love it.

Just got back from Cubbies and Tigers. Good times. My boys brought their bats today. I think I might have had a little more fun seeing them on the South Side last week though, mainly because all the Cubs fans there knew the Tigers were the better team. The White Sox fans have a reasonable expectation to win nearly every game, so it was a lot more satisfying to be there rooting for the Tigers and watching the Sox lose. The Cubs fans all seemed pretty resigned to losing as soon as the game started.

I think it's quite possible for them to be the most loved and the most hated at the same time. No one else has more fans, but no one else has as many people who hate them. It's not a contradiction at all.

No one will ever surpass the Yankees as most hated. It's a fact. Tigers at Wrigley this weekend. I'll be there for sure Saturday, and likely again on Sunday. I'm pumped.
