  1. I must be silly too... Sure there are a couple of mediocre tracks on Challengers, but the awesomeness of the awesome ones makes it sure-fire top 5 material.
  2. While we're on the subject, Adventures In Solitude is an exceptional song as well. No suprise Challengers is #4 on my best of albums list...
  3. Actually, I think the first 4 tracks on Challengers come about as close to perfection as anything this year. Or ever, for that matter...
  4. If you're referring to the Bon Iver, he self-released it this year, so technically it counts as a 2007 release...
  5. Yay! I didn't know the official releases were in '08.
  6. finally getting around to this... and it's pretty dang good!

  9. I'm starting to wonder if you two agree on anything... Now: Bodies of Water - Ears Will Pop & Eyes Will Blink
  10. OK, here we go. Hopefully. I started off with about 25 songs and started whittling down. I got to 11 and couldn't decide which one to give up. So I didn't, it's my top 11 songs of 2007: 01 White Rabbits - While We Go Dancing 02 The Arcade Fire - (Antichrist Television Blues) 03 Emma Pollock - Paper And Glue 04 Iron & Wine - Resurrection Fern 05 Andrew Bird - Armchairs 06 LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends 07 The New Pornographers - Myriad Harbour 08 Menomena - Muscle'n Flo 09 The National - Apartment Story 10 Okkervil River - Plus Ones 11 Bon Iver - Re: Stacks No real order, I ju
  11. Man, I hope it was lazy. And that he gets over it...
  12. Which is odd to me - It could be that I'm underestimating Mat Brooke's contribution, but I thought Ben wrote most of the lyrics on EATT.
  13. Sure I do. Maybe I misunderstood your question. The new Apostle of Hustle album is good, just not up to par w/the Kevin Drew or Stars. But they are great live!
  14. that's a pretty sweet one-two. for me: i'm trying to decide if it's better than the new iron & wine or not...
  15. 16. Really? Wow... My disclosures: as several people here know, I am a walking contradiction in that I am (a) completely infatuated with Band Of Horses and (b - to put it mildly) rather indifferent about MMJ. While I agree that The General Specific is capital G-Good (along with Is There A Ghost, No One's Gonna Love You, Islands On The Coast and Window Blues), there is simply NO track on EATT that isn't amazing. That is in my very humble opinion, of course...

  19. If Cease To Begin excites you, you should hear their first album Everything All The Time...
  20. Stupid question: I've uploaded my songs to divshare... now how to I create a playlist?
  21. If you're looking for other BSS related bands, Kevin Drew released an exceptional album this year. Stars' new one is pretty good too.
  22. I agree with this, but... I use downloads mainly to listen to albums before I buy them. I'm all for not spending money on crappy albums anymore. I use emusic for the albums that I like but probably wouldn't spend $15 on... unfortunately I don't have the money (or space) to buy a physical copy of every album that I enjoy.
  23. I have been known to delete my entire ipod in a fit of incompetence... OK, that really only happened once... I have NEVER been able to "get" Tom Waits... I have tried and tried, but I just don't like listening to him. I liked him in Mystery Men though...
