  1. They might be bigger...but there's no way they could be better. Manboobs are unfortunate at best. Girl boobs are fortunate at worst.
  2. I've seen this kind of angst and division before. It happens when bands/artists mature and move in a musical direction that some finds simply will not accept. I watched internet warfare and bloodletting over on the AOL and USENET Springsteen boards. The same thing always happens. A group will blindly follow no matter what; a group will turn completely against the artist and troll the boards taunting the faithful; a group that like some of what is going but not all of it. The thing I find truly amazing is the troll poster. We don't really have any here, but if you haven't liked anything the b
  3. Jeff isn't making music for you. He's making music for himself. If you happen to dig it, cool. If not, well...
  4. All very valid points. But this study occurred 52 years ago. Things have change very dramatically since these experiments were conducted.
  5. Mr. Cikoch was a biology instructor at a snobby suburban girl's junior college. During class one day he asked his student, "Miss Simison, would you please name the organ of the human body, which under the appropriate conditions, expands to six times its normal size, and define the conditions." Miss Simison gasped, and then said, "Mr. Cikoch, I don't think that is a proper question to ask me. I assure you my parents will hear of this." With that she sat down red-faced. Mr. Cikoch then called on Miss Hakar and asked the same question. Miss Hakar, with composure, replied, "The pupil of the eye
  6. Actually, now Tom Hicks is off the hook for signing the worst contract in Baseball History. A 7-year contract for a 32 year old player? Are you shitting me?
  7. One of the things that is painfully obvious with videos of his stage performances and has been obvious since 1992 is Bruce's reliance on the teleprompter. At times is it really distracting. Those totured artist looks on his face is him struggling to read the prompter. He manages to remember the chords to the songs, the phrasing (usually) and the guitar solos...yet he can't remember his lyrics? Other than that, I am always enthralled with the performances.
  8. I do so love the cover song out of left field http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onDh4P1cE2E
  9. Back when I used to frequent the AOL boards and the RMAS newsgroup, there were some posters who were peripheral members of the Bruce camp who frequented both boards. But it depends on who is saying it.
  10. Wow...I guess with the passing of Terry and Danny, Bruce must have realized that time waits for no one.
  11. Where did you read about a "Dick's Picks" style series? This would be so very interesting. There are so many boots available out there. If there would be some origihnal soundboards with professional mastering...oh my god. The Steelmill stuff is so far from where he ended up. Basically guitar heavy proto-metal. I would really love to see some well recorded, well mastered shows from 73-74. The TWTITESS tour (if you could call it a tour). The shows from the period with Suki Lahav on Violin and Max and Roy finding their place in the band.
  12. I won't be scolding or condescending here...but listen to the damn things already.
  13. I revisit this post because the doesn't quite capture the problem with the material available. Some of the vocal are 'ghost vocals' in the outtakes (sung as guide vocals off mike). In others he will sing a verse and hum or scat vocal a verse. I think he totally rewrote one only track. I still maintain if there wasn't such an obvious hype about this being a record from 1978, it would still be a transcendant work. It does add to the aura of the tremendous productivity of that era, but it does put a different spin on things. The point to me is that these are great pop songs. At the hei
  14. After Reading Ron Charles' review in the WASHINGTON POST, I don't think I would touch this.
  15. Good book about an alternate history where Germany won the Second World War and evidence of the holocoust comes to light 20 years later...

  17. One Eskimo---Kandi (Really love the sample of Candy Stanton...it doesn't really sound contrived or forced to me at all) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEqTPlD-8QI
