Couldn't tell you about any website. A lot of what I know was committed to memory for years of being a tramp. Bruce's issue is apparently all about the context. He knows what concept or theme he wants to pursue and all else be damned. The way the last three records came about, he may have broken that work habit a bit.

I agree with your point somewhat (witness what we see here wrt Wilco). I don't pan Jay for basically not pushing his Son Volt work. I know he has it in him from his solo releases. There are conclusions that can be drawn from the fact that Jay felt the need to release three solo records when he basically IS Son Volt. I get the feeling that Jay has a vision for Son Volt...i just can't really get a grasp of what he is after.

Last night I broke out "The Ties That Bind (aka The Power Station), the record that set to roll out in November of 1979 before Bruce decided to edit/enhance/morph it into "The River". This record was a more personal relationship oriented record where "The River" delves more into the internal tension between the need for community and the need to be alone. There was a tremendous amount of discussion when the Shows became commercially available. You can't help but hate that audience for their inability to hear the wondrous music being presented.

Bruce has never really had a well produced record. His newer stuff with Brendan O'Brien has its detractors, but it is definitely an improvement over most of his catalogue.

I love this, I loved it 15 years ago, and I will love it 15 year from now. But Jay needs to grow.

I don't know what line of work you are in, and I don't even know if that is germaine, but it stinks to high heaven. And for him to call out others for doing the same thing, while adding insult to injury, is simply the hypocrisy of an arrogant man. No crime in being a hypocrite. But if someone needs to have the ethics of their industry explained to them...perhaps they should find another line of work. And by the way...why is there more of an outcry here about Olbermann being suspended than Juan Williams being fired over at NPR?

That is one of my pet peeves...It's bad enought Christmas is such a commercial venture these days but having to put up with the crass commercialism from Halloween on is just plain WRONG. Yeah...I know. Enjoy these days. They go by so very, very quickly.

Citing other's ethical lapses is a poor defense. Ethics is common sense based. I deal with shit like this every day in my professional life, so I have little sympathy for this type of behavior.
