  1. I wonder if Neil had a problem with Pegi's budding musical career?
  2. I am convinced it wasn't. Given what we have seen in the past of Robbie's ego, do you think he wouldn't have trumpeted that from every stage he's been on since 1966? You think he wouldn't have dropped the hint to Wenner, Marcus, Landau and Marsh at some point in time?
  3. Good Lord...Robbie Robertson. I remember when the 1966 live set officially came out several years ago, and some people tried to float that it was Robbie who was saying 'get fucking loud'. I was shocked at the time he didn't run with that and try to leech some more fame off of Bob.
  4. After watching the premier again, I must say it is the weakest rollout of a new Doctor. since Christopher Eccelston. There's dark, then there's grim and forlorn. I think Capaldi will find his stride, but after Tenant and Smith knocked their debut episodes out of the park, he has a lot of work to do. On second thought, the Tenant premier was a bit lame...revived by a cup of tea? Asleep most of the episode? Re-growing a hand? A sword fight?
  5. Any thoughts on the New Doctor? I was a little underwhelmed. Need a Vastra, Jenny and Drax spinoff.
  6. I remember the days when the Mrs. and I would wake up early and 'work out'.
  7. When think of ONE HIT WONDER, I think of Tommy Tutone, not Jimi Hendrix of the Grateful Dead.
  8. Unless one has had experience with depression, it is unfathomable the amount of pain that makes a person decide that not living anymore is a solution. Mr. Williams had received treatment for addiction and his depression. Depression is treatable, which makes this story all the more frustrating, maddening and tragic.
  9. At least Keef and Mick actually recorded there. Hell, Bob Seger recorded 1/2 of each of his 70's run of greatt records there.
  10. Notice how Bono is the self appointed muse on the soul and history of American music?
  11. Watched this last night/this morning...damn, what a good movie.
  12. The first chorus at 1:13 where the song goes from being a small town lament to a full blown epic.
  13. It might be passe, but I remember how shocking it was the first time I heard the distorted guitar explosion at :58. The song went for a THE AIR THAT I BREATHE ripoff to being something ENTIRELY different.
  14. The snare fills from 2:03 to 2:25. Nothing special about it...but everything's special about it.
  15. Malford Milligan's background vox which seem to come out of nowhere at :52 and raise the song to an entirely different level. (That and the lead guitar coming in at :17). A rocker in the middle of a record of sad reflection. AE is my favorite in the pantheon of American originals of the third generation along with Bruce Springsteen.
  16. Satisfied? I'm satisfied not having an exercise routine. But, I don't think that's the kind of answer you were looking for
  17. I am hardly giving up on him...he is just an extremely questionable piece to the puzzle. Outside of his bit of a power burst he exhibited in Arizona this spring, I'm not entirely sold on him as a key offensive piece. The Rangers have a logjam at middle infielder (Odor is playing pretty damn well for a 20 year old). If there is ANY question about Profar, he will lose the job that was handed to him. Just remember one thing...JOEY GALLO IS COMING.
  18. It was a perfect storm. Slicing off some much offensive power since 2012 (Hamilton, Cruz, Young, Murphy, Kinsler, Napoli) and hoping to replace those numbers with Fielder, Profar and Choo was insane. When Holland hurt his knee playing hockey...I mean tripping over his dog, the handwriting was on the wall. And Losing Perez, Harrison and Fielder within weeks of each other was the last nail in the coffin. I don't know if this team will be able to compete for several years. Profar is still iffy (a severe shoulder injury for an unproven player) Perez will take a year and half to recover from
  19. Geez...Billy Bean is really rolling the dice this year. If the A's don't win it all...
  20. I wouldn't dream of comparing Jeff to a 19 year old Bruce. But damn...Jeff's looking like ME.
  21. Okay...I admit it. I'm shallow. I would rather my 'rock star heroes' not look like a rumpled, Associate Professor of Animal Husbandry.
  22. Although it isn't possible for me to care less about either of these two bands...Oasis and the Smiths. I would be entertained at the possibility of mayhem and homicide.
