  1. if he didn't have a democrat-controlled congress, i would agree.
  2. meh, i don't know, romney always seemed kind of slimey to me; but much better than palin. btw, you still haven't corrected your misspelling of uriah heep.
  3. well, i have a few problems with mccain, but the one that will probably prevent me from voting for him is his vp selection.
  4. reagan had been deeply interested and involved in national politics for years before even becoming governor of california. palin started thinking about national policy a few weeks ago. so you'd hire a guy as your coach who knew nothing about football and yet "made people feel comfortable and good about themselves"?
  5. hopefully, for her sake, palin can go back and still be an effective governor, 'cause it seemed like she was doing a good job at that level. how much as she damaged her credibility, though, with this vice presidential folly?
  6. it's been bugging me for a while - it's uriah heep, not heap.
  7. i like this answer. i think this is how most people feel. i do take umbrage at his implication that people who believe that the bible is the word of god think that god sat up on a cloud with ink and pen and wrote it. yes, of course, that is childish. but, anyway, that's a small matter, and there's much on which i agree with him here. i might point out that jesus also did not believe in religion. "Religion to me is a bureaucracy between man and God that I don't need" is a statement that could've been spoken by jesus himself.
  8. so you're happy about the ruling merely because it's a loss for bush?
  9. i don't have an argument. all i said is that palin's only chance in the debate is that if biden performs as badly as she does. get off my back.
  10. i refuse to apologize for agreeing with people.

  14. he's just so familiar and his gaffes are so well-known, there's not all that much left to say.
  15. if she's still defending the "geographic proximity" credential by thursday, i'm going to change the channel.
  16. her only hope is that biden says a bunch of equally stupid stuff, thereby granting her a draw.
  17. i like to read these posts in a charles emerson winchester voice.
  18. let me rephrase - her selection will cost him any chance of winning the election. if she's impressive in this debate then she's one of the greatest actors i've ever seen.
  19. the selection of palin will cost mccain the election.
