i think the only way to do it is to have cash in hand and name exactly what you want. if they don't budge, walk out. my wife and i did this at a dealership and walked out within 5 minutes of being there. we ended up buying from a private owner. buying a car is a great exercise in practicing assertive behavior. i walked out on a dude once and he was in tears.

i found an old copy of Zola and the tulip tree online and ordered it. alas, that was a few months ago and it hasn't shown up. is that one any good. i had a copy of it for a while, but lost it and can't remember if it's good or not. i need to pick up the louris/olson record. heard it a few times. they are best when together. louris can get a little cheesy by himself.

that sounds plausable. there is supposed to be a 'twist' and Deb looking into her dad's past seems to be coming back up with one of the former CI's showing back up. maybe deb was adopted? i just dex nails trinity. maybe quinn and deb and dex are related. hell, i don't know. this last half of the season may be the best so far. it started out really cheesy, but is building up nicely.

right on. i agree completely. the DRM live seemed to be all about fun covers like dylan, neil young, townes. an album with some of the live staples would have been so good. Queen Jane etc.

the other harmony ridge albums are fairly good. the last two, mentioned above are pretty bad.

the reason gillian says she's not put an album out in so long is because she hasn't felt that any of the new songs have fallen together to make an album. interesting, given the fact that dave's release is totally disjointed. about 3 great songs. could do without the strings though. the rest of the songs are just traditional toss-offs. to me, gillian is not a basic trad artist. she takes that context, but writes REALLY good songs. they have been touring, but i have a feeling they might be running out of steam and just stay on the road to make a living. if rawling's album contains the p

yeah, i've been in that situation before. frustrating. as i said, some good songs, but def not a gillian album.

i had high hopes for this. gillian is probably one of my top five favorite artists. unfortunately, this disc is only half amazing. Ruby (despite being a soul song rip-off) is great. I see the All sounds like a long lost dylan song. Method acting is a great cover. hell, i'd love it if this album were all bright eyes covers. he can write good songs, just so whiny. don't need the cortez coda though. way too long. the rest of the album just seems so tossed off. just neo-trad stuff that many people are doing these days. i don't know, i could be off.

if it's any consolation, both of those albums are terrible. i got them at one point to 'round out my collection' as well. they are unlistenable. sorry.

when i used to frequent record stores more i would find stuff like that. i always wondered if i should tell the clerk that the disc is worth 10 times what they are selling it for

i wish i could get a cd or just mp3 card with the LP artwork at about half the price of vinyl. that would work for me.

no one can tell the difference in sound. it is nice to have artwork. i can live without it though.

it's exactly the same as buying a CD. just imagine the CD is on some shelf taking up space in your house

well, if competition was the big factor it says two things: 1. explains why solo artists from big bands aren't as good on their own (lennon, mccartney, etc.) 2. lack of outside competition allows artists to be half assed and explains the fall of all of these bands into utter shit music as time went on.

my first show was in 91. i went with some friends. i was sure the show was over at set break, then trey said they would be back for a second set. i couldn't believe it. the venue was about as big as my living room.
