  1. As of 11:35 EST: California: Proposition 8 (Marriage Amendment) Yes: 1,053,742 (54%) No: 894,081 (46%) 6% of precincts reporting. Keep watch here
  2. Wow, looking at the CNN map is killing me. I can't believe he has turned parts of the center of the country. It's just staggering. Did CNN just call Florida or did I miss it before?
  3. Exactly what I was trying to coherently type. This is the gracious John McCain I wish I had seen in the last few months. Here comes The President.
  4. Way to go, Brian! I knew something good had to come out of you moving away.
  5. And now the voter board is reading the story and deleting one vote for Obama because underage voting is not permitted.
  6. I forgot to mention, this morning, when we asked about getting stickers to show that we had voted, we were told they had to get rid of them because the students at the school had been sticking them all over the place yesterday. While I laughed at first, as I drove to work I started to question why the elementary school students had access to ANY voting materials the day before the election. As much as I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, after seeing those 9 bags of paper strewn along the side of a Florida road, I find myself wondering how many of those cute little bubbles may have been fi
  7. So there are either an abnormal amount of children or most people don't register.
  8. They have 75 people. They're the most widely known voting community because they open their voting at midnight, and yet only 28% of them vote?
  9. On my way home yesterday I came up with a new nickname for you. Ex-Conn. Surprisingly, in my area there is a Republican majority and I haven't heard a single kind word uttered about Obama when I'm around town. And after seeing those 9 bags of voter material on the side of the Florida highway, I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.
  10. I went at 7, and had no line. I got all dressed up in layers expecting to be standing outside for a while. But as we were coming out it looked like the final scene in Field Of Dreams down the road leading up to the school. We have paper ballots with the bubbles to fill in for the first time. You'd better believe I spent an extra couple minutes examining each filled-in bubble for any trace of a blank spot before I turned in the ballot. They're not gonna purge my vote!!!
  11. Speaking for myself, I am so emotionally drained from the last year, I can't wait to just know who the winner is, whether I like it or not.
  12. I'd really like to think so, because if he wins and continues to behave the way his campaign has been behaving, it won't be good for anyone. I really want the old McCain if I have to have any McCain at all. I remember a time when I was saying I'd be okay with either candidate, but that time has long since passed.
  13. Oh man, could the timing have been any worse? I'm sure she gave it all she had to stick it out just one more day. RIP, Grandma.
  14. I just had a random thought. Wouldn't it be so much more exciting to watch debates if each candidate had a laptop in front of them, queued up to Google? Then when McCain comes out with the "do you really want to vote for someone with questionable ties to ACORN?", Obama types "McCain ACORN" in Google Images and BAM!!!.....busts out the pic: No matter which side was doing the Googling, I'd find it endlessly entertaining to watch the other side confronted immediately with their accusations.
