Wow, looking at the CNN map is killing me. I can't believe he has turned parts of the center of the country. It's just staggering.
Did CNN just call Florida or did I miss it before?

Palin looks like she's going to cry. I would like to think that I care about her feelings, but I really don't. But John McCain...You know, if he hadn't drifted back into the Bush Camp and chosen such a nitwit as a running mate, we'd be looking at a very different outcome, i think.
Exactly what I was trying to coherently type. This is the gracious John McCain I wish I had seen in the last few months.
Here comes The President.

This is mindblowingly incredible.

OH MY GOD!

I'll be honest, I wasn't going to believe this one till I saw it. Nicely done, Ohio.
Way to go, Brian! I knew something good had to come out of you moving away.

From Marc Ambinder's blog:
A very senior McCain aide just told me: "At this point, we need a miracle." -
We must live vicariously through all our VC compatriots on this one! Celebrate hard for all of us, those of you lucky enough to be in attendance in Grant Park!!!
Yes, and STAY SAFE OUT THERE!!!

Andrew Sullivan must write a lot of corny, sappy chick-flicks.
He didn't write it.
-
And now the voter board is reading the story and deleting one vote for Obama because underage voting is not permitted.

I forgot to mention, this morning, when we asked about getting stickers to show that we had voted, we were told they had to get rid of them because the students at the school had been sticking them all over the place yesterday. While I laughed at first, as I drove to work I started to question why the elementary school students had access to ANY voting materials the day before the election. As much as I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, after seeing those 9 bags of paper strewn along the side of a Florida road, I find myself wondering how many of those cute little bubbles may have been filled in and what may have been fed into that cool machine that magically makes paper disappear.
Hopefully Andrew Sullivan will think this is noteworthy and launch a formal investigation.

Don't forget felons. I bet Dixville Notch is full of them.
Damn cattle thieves.
-
This says 100% of registered voters cast ballots.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/dix...otch/index.html
So there are either an abnormal amount of children or most people don't register.

No line at 7AM in CT.
-
They need more people in Dixville Notch....
LouieB
They have 75 people. They're the most widely known voting community because they open their voting at midnight, and yet only 28% of them vote?
-
Yeah, but you're in Connecticut. Is McCain even on the ballot there or is it just a runoff between Obama and Nader?
On my way home yesterday I came up with a new nickname for you. Ex-Conn.
Surprisingly, in my area there is a Republican majority and I haven't heard a single kind word uttered about Obama when I'm around town. And after seeing those 9 bags of voter material on the side of the Florida highway, I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.

and my new desktop wallpaper.
And mine.

I went at 7, and had no line. I got all dressed up in layers expecting to be standing outside for a while. But as we were coming out it looked like the final scene in Field Of Dreams down the road leading up to the school.
We have paper ballots with the bubbles to fill in for the first time. You'd better believe I spent an extra couple minutes examining each filled-in bubble for any trace of a blank spot before I turned in the ballot. They're not gonna purge my vote!!!

i'm sure this has been brought up before, but why are so many people saying they're so glad its over? its been one of the most exciting/interesting/groundbreaking political seasons in history..
Speaking for myself, I am so emotionally drained from the last year, I can't wait to just know who the winner is, whether I like it or not.
-
I don't McCain really has the stomach for the nasty shit done in his name. I may be wrong.
I'd really like to think so, because if he wins and continues to behave the way his campaign has been behaving, it won't be good for anyone. I really want the old McCain if I have to have any McCain at all. I remember a time when I was saying I'd be okay with either candidate, but that time has long since passed.
-
Oh man, could the timing have been any worse? I'm sure she gave it all she had to stick it out just one more day. RIP, Grandma.
-
I just had a random thought. Wouldn't it be so much more exciting to watch debates if each candidate had a laptop in front of them, queued up to Google? Then when McCain comes out with the "do you really want to vote for someone with questionable ties to ACORN?", Obama types "McCain ACORN" in Google Images and BAM!!!.....busts out the pic:
No matter which side was doing the Googling, I'd find it endlessly entertaining to watch the other side confronted immediately with their accusations.
Congrats to President-Elect OBAMA
