  1. Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock - It Takes Two I absolutely uncontrollably love this song. And a song I never knew existed: Kool Moe Dee/KRS-One/Chuck D - Rise N' Shine
  2. It's a treasure trove of old school hip hop. A lot of early east coast stuff. A lot of rare videos......that's why I'm wondering if it's really Shock G.
  3. He would know the words to the Humpty Dance. Just found another gem: Dana Dane - This Be The Def Beat Checkout the youtube user "shockg". He's got some fantastic shit I'm weeding through. I wonder if it might actually be Shock G. It's not like he's got much going on right now.
  4. In my car I do as much as I can of the Humpty Dance. I even do the arm waves and pelvic thrust the back up guys in the video do during that horn section preceding "Oh, do me (it?) baby". A few years ago our friend had been keeping the new cover song his punk band was unveiling under wraps. He was in the back seat of our car one night and the Humpty Dance came on. He recited the whole thing, as did I. But with me facing forward he didn't know I was doing it. A few days later I asked again what this mysterious cover song was and he said "I gave you a HUGE clue in your car the other night!
  5. Biz Markie - Vapors I love the verse about Big Daddy Kane....and that he rhymes "hoodlum" with "shoot 'em". Damn good song.
  6. Roxanne, Roxanne - UTFO Oh man, this is a treasure.
  7. Wow, thanks for that blast from the past! This one's when I developed a mad crush on Charlie Brown.
  8. Was this directed at me? It's not, I recently found that out.
  9. No doubt. My jaw was dropped through the whole segment the first time I saw it.
  10. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never knew that existed. Mad Lion sounds like Fozzy Bear.
  11. Singles bring in a whole other level....some of my favorite hip hop songs were, to my knowledge, not originally on any LPs. Or at least any LPs that stood up to their singles. "LaDiDaDi" is one of the greatest songs ever "Roxanne Roxanne" by UTFO "That's The Joint" by Funky 4 + 1 "Sally Walk" by Stetsasonic (may have been on an LP) "Have A Nice Day" and "Roxanne's Revenge" by Roxanne Shante
  12. My word to describe it is "monumental".
  13. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on ebay for those nesting dolls. This topic has got me thinking about my collecting habits and how I have never decided on a theme to collect....maybe I'll start collecting cool movie promo items. I also love my Fargo snowglobe of the overturned car.....my old roommate's sister was the girl in the car in the movie.
  14. Speaking of Ed Wood, I just read this on the Antiques Roadshow website yesterday while I was supposed to be working: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/roadshow/sto...mission179.html That's a good one too. I was this close to having a Billy Madison bookbag at the annual promo giveaway at a local video store. Unfortunately the place closed down a few years ago.
  15. Are they official promos or did someone just make them on their own do you think?
  16. I already looked. Did you drop a lot of cash on those?
  17. I hold in my possession what I considered until today to be the best promotional item: A 13 Inch Boogie Nights Ruler. Now I need to own those damn Malkovich nesting dolls.
  18. Holy crap, where did you score those and can I have them? That is the most clever idea for a promo item I've seen in a long time.
  19. Edan is fantastic. Big ups to Permie for turning me onto Beauty And The Beat.
  20. I had insomnia last night so I turned on the TV and what was just starting on Comedy Central? CB4 in the muthafuckin' house. I love that movie.
  21. http://www.nbc30.com/slideshow/news/962899...ews;dm=ss;w=400 I think she should replace her current plate with a vanity plate of her last name. That should solve the problem.
