It was a joke. Your posting style tends to be lawyer-ish at times. It's not a personal attack, and if people were put off by it they wouldn't repsond to you. Fair enough. I apologize for misinterpreting your post. With regard to the second portion of your post, I don't think I ever said anything like what you're pretending I said. I'm simply commenting here. Calmly, and rationally. So I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't use hyperbole (or pointing out typos) in an attempt to discredit what I say or think.

No, I do not think time would be accelerated. I'm sure the floors need a good scrub, wax and polish now that all these people are gone. Big deal. The capitol already has people on staff who do those things regularly and they don't get paid very much. The problem with the estimate is that they were hoping we'd believe (and, unfortunately, many people are so stupid/gullible/rabidly partisan that they DO believe) that it will cost millions to repair the "damages" to a building that is designed to last hundreds, if not thousansds, of years. I agree with this. I used to work in a 100 year old government building (almost exactly the same age as Wisconsin's capitol building) with a bunch of marble everywhere. Tape doesn't damage marble, nor does a group of people standing or sitting on it. But marble does get damaged over time from certain everyday occurrences, such as deliveries of furniture, paper, equipment, etc. I think they're trying to blame the damage on the protestors and inflating the price of repairs in an attempt to villify them. Even that seems like it's about $300K too high. Two janitors could goo-gone the tape residue in four hours. Landscaping isn't high dollar work, and the city probably already has landscape crews on salary.

Oh my god, this concert was absolutely amazing. Fortunately, Ty had basically the same backing band as last time (different rhythm guitarist, but same drums and bass), and they've gotten even tighter and more confident. You could see and feel the joy coming off the stage. For my money, this is the funnest live show out there right now, and considering how Facebook erupted the next day, I know I'm not alone in thinking that. Will do. I saw him last year, and thought he was great. At the time, I had only heard one of his songs. Usually, if I'm not familiar with the music, the concert is underwhelming, but that wasn't the case with his show. He's a very exhuberant performer and his band was rock solid, so the show was a blast.

For me, the main things they failed to book the Matador bill were TFUL and Helium (or a Mary Timony solo band).

Wow, that's amazing. They were asked to reform for the Matador Las Vegas thing last year, but they declined.

I'm pretty sure they've either thrown in the towel for good, or are on indefinite hiatus. I saw them with Shudder to Think. Actualy, I saw Shudder to Think a few times, and they were always incredible. On an UNrelated note... I saw one song from Thinking Fellers Union once. That's a band I still kick myself for missing. I must've passed on seeing them at least five times, but at least I got to see five minutes worth of one of their shows.

Is that an unfunny piece of satire, or a piece of legitimate journalism written by someone cooler and smarter than everyone else?

I liked them beter when they used to do that kind of stuff.
