  1. I thought it was cool how they all lived in the same house. Why don't bands do that anymore?

  3. "I'm the Man Who Loves You" "Wishful Thinking"
  4. Oh yeah. My John Thorn story. Oh, the Glory Ulster’s John Thorn helps assemble exhibit on zenith of New York baseball By Dan Barton It was a time, both in baseball and in history, which will not come again. Like Athens at the time of Pericles or London at the height of the British Empire, there are times when the forces of history and culture combine in such a way to make a certain point on the globe the most important place in the world. And so it was in New York City in the era following the end of the Second World War, when America was far and away the most powerful country in the world

  6. I'm not saying I exactly feel bad for the guy, as nothing delights me more than to see moralistic hypocrites get their comeuppance. Still, this piece makes some good points. America

  12. Yep. I figure if I'm going to smoke tobaccie, I might as well smoke good tobbacie, though I kind of doubt I will even finish this pack. I used to like to smoke in bars once I got a good buzz on, but we can't do that anymore in this state.
  13. My friend Erin is from there.
  14. I would save the sewing machine inventor guy.
  15. I bought a pack of American Spirit cigarettes last week. I have smoked precisely three.
  16. I think the Giants will now go -2 and 18.
  17. 1. I always knew something was wrong with Beck. 2. "Manson took over 150 hours of Scientology courses, rejected it as too crazy, and then went on to murder a whole bunch of people."
  18. A lot of people in NO didn't have the means to leave the city on their own. And dammit, those levees should have been bigger and better maintained. Nobody likes paying taxes, but if you want to have a nice country, it costs money. There is no aphorism more true than "you get what you pay for." Perhaps if Bush, along with the rest of us, had taken a more rational attitude toward what it really takes, money wise, to run this nation in a responsible manner, which means fixing things before they catastrophically fail, lives could have been saved.
