  1. Just based on what I saw in that movie, Jay Bennett would have driven me crazy too. Does being on VC automatically disqualify one from sitting on the jury?
  2. Mexican battles aside, today is the birthday of my nephew, Karl Marx and one of my best friends.
  3. I'd go see that, but the Genesis band really should have named themselves "Hogweed."
  4. There is an f-ton of lodging within a half-hour of the stadium. I would handle those arrangements myself. I barely trust these organizations to send tickets on time, much less coordinate with another organization.
  5. Does it help you all to know that my brother-in-law is really the nicest-looking Indian guy I have ever seen?
  6. Hey. My brother-in-law, a pharmacologist who specializes in infectious disease, says not to freak out.
  7. Best wishes on your special day!
  8. I am a fan of Marshal Law comics.
  9. I wish they were still the Whalers. Maybe they could have adopted red, gold and green colors and a Rastafarian theme and called themselves the Wailers.
  10. Pork was on sale this week at the store. I just had some, stir-fried with peppers, onion and green beans, with a little soy sauce and crushed red pepper.
  11. Or the hip-hop number with previously unreleased rhymes from Tupac, Biggie and ODB.
  12. I had kind of a similar experience when I went on the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge just before they started converting it into a walkway over the Hudson. You could look down through the ties and see the river 212 feet below. I had an instantaneous fear reaction, but I did not freak out.
  13. May 2: problem saturation A process by which Mainstream Media addresses an issue incessantly, building up to a sense of pending doom. Of course, the problem, while worrisome, does not pose the grave threat they would like you to believe. Finally, MSM abandons coverage of the problem completely, moving on to another problem. "Honey, why don't we hear any news about the drug cartels anymore?" "That was last month's problem saturation, dear."
  14. Let's talk nominees. Bet you a nickel it's gonna be Ron Kuby.
  15. That Rose guy! What a rejection!
  16. Franklin D. was a playa. And an artist with the media - he knew the value of communicating directly with the American people in eloquent, but simple, terms. He certainly had his prominent media opponents, H.L. Mencken being notable among them, but FDR simply oozed leadership that neither Hoover, Landon, Willkie nor Dewey could match.
