  1. Thought some of you might enjoy this. I have recently be trying to record some of the stuff I have written over the years. If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. The vocal mic I used on this particular tune is a Shure SM7b, the same mic Tweedy has used in the past (funny looking mic at the beginning of IATTBYH.   7. Its like 50 bucks for a 30 min reel, of course you can record over and over on it, and i always mix down to my computer, so a couple of reels is enough for me

  11. Guitar amps sound like shit recorded directly in my opinion..... I have had great luck with a small speakered amp and a shure -sm57 mic. Look into the epiphone valve jr amps

  13. Musician's friend sells one that like $60, Artisan or something, Ive got it.....works fine
  14. Tascam 388 Check it out.... Or for a little more versatility get a Tascam 38 and then a good analog mixer like the Tascam m-316b
