Pet Sounds 40th Anniversary
dixiecupdrinker replied to dixiecupdrinker's topic in Someone Else's Song
Doesn't matter. The album sucks and I am NOT backing up my statement. dcd Yeah, where? -
I'm not buying yet another copy of this disc, but the extras and goodies are pretty cool. Pet Sounds 40th Anniversary Blog & Podcast series anyway, dcd

Score a date with The 29 Year Old Virgin
dixiecupdrinker replied to dixiecupdrinker's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Nope, too busy pursuing a date with you... dcd -
I was listening to Drew & Mike this morning and heard this: **clicky** If anyone throws their name into the hat, ya have to let us all know! I love the Internets! Anyway, dcd

Hey Charles- that is a cool picture. It's funny how the mic looks like it is floating in air, though. Great shot! S~

The damned GPS unit treated much better on the way home than it did on the way there, it routed me around Durham instead of through it, which was good. I made it back to Falwellville about 2:30, made it to work late, and am dragging arse today. The whole "50 cups of coffee" thing is in total effect today. It was so worth it, though! S~

Wouldn't VC implode or cease to exist or something?

I guess this is worth repeating: Happy Birthday, Tom! dcd

I guess art is doing its job if it elicits such strong reactions, eh? dcd

Hey Chad- was that you who loudly shushed those drunk guys? I don't know when they weaseled their way onto the lawn behind us (beside you), but I only started to notice them during the encore. Scott

Thanks caliber and Jimmy2. What, Jimmy, you've never been down 29? I swear the "real" Walton's Mountain is down that way. Not that I'll ever go, but I can't help be a little curious. I'll bring my own stylish shoes, so I think I'll survive up there better than I am down here in Falwellville. dcd

I had a blast meeting everyone last night! It was definitely worth the drive from Falwellville. Watchmefall and I had a good laugh over the one drunken (and loud) ass who slurred, "That was a classic!" after Walken. Had a great time and hope to meet up with all y'all at another show sometime. Now that I am really late for work, I need to cut this short. dcd/Scott

Yeah, I've made up my mind to move there as soon as I'm out of my current lease in Lynchburg. I work in Amherst, which is about 45-60 minutes south of Charlottesville. Right now I have a 30 minute ride to work from the apartment, but I'm thinking the longer commute will be worth the trade off. Besides, I'll get to drive past the real Walton's Mountain every day. dcd
-
Yeah? Glad to hear it. Just one thing, where the fock were you when I needed someone to tell me NOT to move to Lynchburg/Falwell-ville? If you did chime in during that thread where I was trying to decide, I'm a fugging idiot for not having listened. Did you grow up in Charlottesville? dcd

Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage! Happy birthday! dcd

Yeah, I forgot to mention the new gig. I dig it. I get on really well with my boss and because this is a smaller company, I really feel like a part of the team. I work long hours and feel a bit underpaid, but I know the experience is going to pay off in the long run. The small company atmosphere is a lot nicer than working for the huge mega-corporate pill pushers. Again, thanks for asking! dcd

To be honest, Tom, I don't like it much. They like to refer to themselves as a "college town", but having lived in Ypsi, Ann Arbor, and Kalamazoo, I think it is FAR from being one. There doesn't seem to be much going on around here at all. I'm not a mall person, but the mall seems to suck (it's no Briarwood and I'm no fan of that mall by any means). The movie theaters pretty much suck. The restaurants haven't been that impressive (I am dieing to find some Middle Eastern grub- damn I miss J Garden in A2 and Shawarma King in K-zoo!), and I'm not about to venture into any redneck NASCAR bars

I have one right up the road from me here in Jerry Falwell-ville. anyway, dcd

What? Who? Huh? Um... ok, maybe. dcd

clicky anyway, dcd

I might have to get the hell out of Jerry Falwell-ville for the evening and head on over to see her. dcd

I'll be there! Who else is going? dcd

Couldn't make it this year. Did anybody capture the webcast? Sounds like everyone had a good time. anyway, dcd

Why would the Parent Teacher Association need Wilco tabs? Are those like box tops or Campbell soup can labels? Some kind fo crazy fundraiser? Can't you just make the kids sell candy or something? My mom used to just hit up her bowling team to buy candy bars or overpriced wrapping paper and such. dcd
