Here in Wisconsin, I like our chances of re-electing our Democratic governor, Jim Doyle. We will also have this question on the ballot: I'm less optimistic about that one.

The Milwaukee International Film Festival ran October 19-29. Over those 11 days I managed to see 25 features and 6 short films; in previous years I have emphasized documentaries, shorts, and regional films, but this year I made a point to shift focus onto world fiction features. Nearly every candidate I've ever supported has lost. Apparently, I am campaign poison.

So far I'd say Studio 60 is a pretty solid show, but I'll be surprised if it's given enough time to finally find its groove. I think Tina Fey is funny, and I think Alec Baldwin is funny, but I think 30 Rock is terribly unfunny. I'm done with it.

I think there are quite a few UT and/or Jay fans here... I pre-ordered the Gob Iron project from Amazon, and am looking forward to it.

I heard "Theologians" once. And "Kamera" once. That's it. I also heard "Just a Kid" once in a movie theater, as part of the pre-show entertainment.

By all reports, Beyonce can sing falsetto through her vagina.

I enjoyed it--but almost exclusively for its set pieces. The story and characters are forgettable.

I think you meant to write, "Thanks, VC, for your hospitality." But I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
