Whether it was due to the extremely muggy conditions, possible technical issues or certain aspects of the venue, everything came back to the music on this evening. Was just able to be in town Thursday night (the aforementioned Martin, Medeski and Wood+NC) and Friday night (Hurray For The Riff Raff/Leyla McCalla/Ron Gallo) this time around. I've been asked this more than a few times and the honest-to-goodness answer is I stopped keeping count years ago because A. whatever number it is wouldn't be all that impressive. I mean, like age, it's all just a number — 100, 200, 500, 1,000...what's the difference? — and anyway, you'd need to know how many shows the band and/or Jeff has played in total to even put that number into context; and B.
