Pink Floyd - Earls Court London 1994 (one of the best gigs I've ever been to). Ryan Adams - Borderline, London 2006 (tiny venue, all acoustic, amazing). Stereolab - Cardiff University, 1996 (downsized to a small back room of the university as the ticket sales had been so poor, but it was an amazingly energetic performance, never knew they could be so electric). British Sea Power - Cambridge Boat Race, 2002 (another tiny venue, hardly anyone there, stage full of stuffed animals). Jeff Tweedy - London, Shepherds Bush Empire (Jeff's one and only solo acoustic show in London - wow!).

It's like a younger Robyn Hitchcock...

I've cued it on my recorder to watch as it clashed with the rugby last night... hope to catch it this week. -

The new album is going to be given away with the Times next weekend I believe... I still won't buy the Times though... -
Some catch-up as I'm seeing them tonight...

I've been meaning to pick up that Pentangle anthology... They (Pentangle) were playing in Cambridge recently - I take it not as the original, full line-up? I have been enjoying the Liege and Lief album though. Great stuff. I'd also been recommended a band called Trees, know anything about them Richard?

Really? I didn't know that... how odd. Book is definitely worth getting, I picked it up for a couple of quid in Fopp... before it disappeared

Wilco - Summerteeth Made me realise there was more to music than Brit-pop. Oasis - Definitely Maybe Music, it all it's forms, suddenly had a focus and this was it. Radiohead - The Bends It was loud, proud and girls seemed to like that fact that I listened to it Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon My entry into the weird and wonderful world of prog-rock, thanks to my dad. Mogwai - Young Team Post-rock... suddenly I'd fallen in love with an entirely new genre of music.
-
I've only recently picked up some of his records too. This is an excellent book on him and well worth reading: It was recommended to me by a friend when I was discovering folk music.

I hate working weekends, but at least I get to blast this out as I'm here by myself!

REally like the old album... even if I did make the mistake of calling them American in a news item... I was half asleep, ok?!?! -
Whoa... it's like the smiths and the wedding present spun into one...
