solace
yeah, see the index page it's up, i just don't wanna tax the server too hard just yet
Scalzunfield
It's weird--it tells me "Forbidden" in Firefox, but lets me in from IE. Anyone else getting this problem? I tried clearing cookies, but no luck.
solace
are you going to http://forums.viachicago.org ? clear your history and possibly a reboot as well, but our DNS didn't change, so that's kinda weird.
Scalzunfield
I just typed the address in directly instead of giong through the link of main page of viachicago.org Weird... It worked though. Thanks and great work with getting this back up and running.
solace
i think that link was incorrect previously (i'd never gone through the main viachicago page for years myself).
spongebob
i'm having trouble with the tracker. it doesn't recognize my user name or password. perhaps i'm simply daft(and i am..)but i was refered to this thread....and i'm still not getting it. i know people are working hard and it's probably my error....anyway waiting seems to always help in these situations....but if anyone feels like sheding some light?spongebob
Guest grimalim
I'm having the same problems as spongebob. I'm sure it is just a glitch or something, but the tracker says there are only 18 registered users, won't take my username or password, or let me re-register. Just givin' an update. Thanks for all the hard work to keep things running smooth.
solace
the tracker is down for a while
timbits
how about switching that avatar autosizer back on?
solace
yeah? some people complained, so i thought people would want it off :-/
timbits
hmmm...i don't see what there is to complain about. with it off you have to figure up the right dimensions which is kind of a pain. but hey - if the people don't want it, no biggie.
solace
ah, i thought it would just keep it the same size as the image unless it's larger than the allowed dimensions (or is that what you're referring to?). if so i can turn it back on
timbits
ah, i thought it would just keep it the same size as the image unless it's larger than the allowed dimensions (or is that what you're referring to?). yup, then it changes it to 100x100
solace
ah, well then learn how to resize your own damn images then!!! j/k should be reset
timbits
ah, thanks. i had the resizing thing down, but the images looked all pixelated.

harpoot
if you see anything acting weird or getting any out of the ordinary errors, please post in this thread, as i'm not sure if/what any data was lost. i will say though, while the data recovery cost us $150, so far it appears to be worth every penny of that... not that i'm happy that we had a major HD crash and it kinda ruined my weekend a bit (or at least all of last night and this morning until 2pm or so...), but still, at least things appear to be OK for now not every subdomain and feature of the server is back up, so bear with us. i left the torrent servers down for now, just to test the stability a bit better. Calexico
I left $500 here the other day and now it is gone. Any chance of a reimbursement?
harpoot
Hi there-- I haven't been able to access the torrents since your server crash. The login screen won't accept my user name or password, and I can't delete my account or re-register. I've tried logging in several times a day over the last several days with no luck. I tried lowering my browser security settings and deleting my cookies, but that was no help. I guess I'm locked out. Harpoot
Naughtopsy
me too. Can't access the torrent page and it does not recognize my usercode or let me add a new one yet I can sign on to post.
gogo
The tracker is down, and will remain down until solace posts to let us know that it's back up. The whole deal (this forum site, the tracker, etc.) was down last weekend, and solace worked hard to get the forums back up and running. Now he's using the tracker being down as an opportunity to make some changes/improvements to the system. He'll let us know when he's ready to open it back up again. gogo
If I don't get my stats back I'm going into an A-man style snit.
solace
actually i'm gonna at least try and import back in the user accounts and stats, i don't know that those database tables changed w/ this new code
