cryptique
Also, Clarrett hasn't actually played football in a couple years. If he was still playing, there is zero chance he'd be headed to jail, at least in Ohio....unless he played for the Steelers. Or the Ravens.
MrRain422
Well if he was playing for those teams, he wouldn't be living in Ohio, and would probably be committing his crimes in other states. So there.
Moltisanti
I'm pretty sure that pollsters in the midwest and northeast are already figuring out a way to justify voting the loser of OSU-Michigan number two the following week. They'll probably also be voting certain other one-loss teams further down than they deserve so as to help ensure a rematch in the BCS title game.
MrRain422
If it's a really close game, it wouldn't be that hard to justify.
quarter23cd
They'll probably also be voting certain other one-loss teams further down than they deserve so as to help ensure a rematch in the BCS title game.I don't see this happening. The whole reason the OSU/UM matchup is a big deal is that it is a do-or-die game. And in a rivalry like this, few things are sweeter than earning a shot at national glory by beating your archrival, or by denying their chance for the same. To do both at the same time is a bonus. This game is about bragging rights for the next 50 years or so.(or at least until this situation happens again)
cryptique
If it's a really close game, it wouldn't be that hard to justify.Seriously. Whoever loses that game (assuming they're both still undefeated beforehand) will have one loss to either the # 1 or # 2 team in the country. Texas is probably the only other team that would be able to make that claim, and they got crushed by OSU, as I recall.
Moltisanti
You don't see pollsters intentionally voting certain teams down further just to help their agenda? It used to happen to Florida all the time under Spurrier, such was the hatred for that man. There were voters that had them out of the top ten in the weeks leading up to them playing Nebraska for the national title. They're fraudelent, as everyone knows.

Of course some voters base their votes on a certain agenda. But that doesn't change the fact that if OSU/Michigan is a close game, it would be perfectly legitimate for them to still be ranked 1 and 2 afterwards. You people are all so cute, still thinking my team can lose. They may not lose in the regular season, but if they beat either Michigan or Ohio State in the national championship game, it would be a big upset, IMO.
mpolak21
You people are all so cute, still thinking my team can lose. People have written USC off, despite the fact that they have yet to lose and play their toughest remaining games Cal and Notre Dame at home where they never lose. They also tend to never lose on the road, and very rarely in bowl games. Anyway, as a Mountaineer fan, I am pulling for them to drop one of those, so we can go on to get our asses handed to us in the national champsionship game against the Michigan/OSU winner. Yet I could live with finishing undefeated getting a bowl oponent we might be able to run with and finishing undeafeated and second in the nation. However before this even becomes a serious discussion WVU has to beat Louisville, Pitt and Rutgers, I think they'll take 2 of the 3, but realistically I don't think they're going to do it this year. --Mike

Curse of the Top Ten.In general, you don't want to play VaTech on a Thursday night. I'm sure they weren't too happy about their performance against BC a couple weeks ago and wanted to make up for it. Jay
They showed on ESPN earlier that if USC loses (which they did) that there is such a spread in the BCS standings between Michigan and West Virginia that it is very possible that OSU and Michigan could meet again in the championship game. watch me fall
So another would/coulda/shoulda/what if Saturday for the "other" USC. Sigh. Looks like we are once again headed to lovely Shreveport. If we get enough wins for a bowl game, that is.

(this won't happen, obviously) Or, if they insist on playing the rematch and each team beats each other once, they should play another game for a "best 2 out of 3".
