ction
Rose Melberg I'm going to have The Smugglers' "Rosie" in my head all day now. I think we need another "Request a band and someone will make a mix of their songs" exchange again. That was fun. I'm actually doing that this time...just minus the request. So, more like "make a mix of some band's songs that no one will really care about." It's either going to be the Toronto band (that wished they were from DC) Phleg Camp, or Big Drill Car, the best pop-punk band no one has ever heard of. Or both. EL the Famous
"Damn" is right. speaking of mixes, I picked up a used copy of some Grand Royal B-boy promo sampler that must have been released around Ill Communication yesterday, w/ a bunch of remixes of Sureshot (amongst other things) and, even better, '33% God'...the original Dust Brothers track that inspired 'Shake Your Rump'. You in, johnny?

ction
Ok, here's my mix. It's a primer for a band most of you have probably never heard of. Hell, they released so little material, it's almost a discography... Phleg Camp 1 - Cut The Robe Shit2 - Switch3 - Dig4 - Whole G5 - Rent6 - Beaker7 - Clarify8 - Arrest9 - Decision/Argentina10 - Feeling Gravity's Pull http://www.sendspace.com/file/xdd478 These guys were from Toronto, and were around from the late 80's (I think) to the mid 90's. Eventually they morphed into a Jesus Lizard-esque band and put out a poorly received (at least by me) album, but they were at their best in the beginning when they sounded like they'd have been right at home on Dischord Records. The first 5 songs on this mix come from their "Bully My Pushy" double 7" on Allied Records, which in my opinion is the best thing they did. Tracks 6 and 9 are from their "Beaker" 7", and tracks 7 and 8 are from a split 7" they did with a band called Fuel (not the crappy alt-rock band) which was also on Allied Records. The last track is from an REM tribute disc and was the first sign that they were moving away from their early sound. I loved this band when I was in college - I was lucky enough to see them play TT the Bear's in Boston with 10 other people - and I still listen to them a lot now. The drummer and bassist, in particular, were monster musicians (the bassist, Sean Dean, now plays with the Sadies). Hopefully, someone else will download this and appreciate it as well. If not, well at least it was free.

Guess it's time to learn. I think we have it at home. what's the size I need to save to? thanks for the help, Neil
EL the Famous
what's the size I need to save to? square? i don't have any idea if the art i put up would even fit into a jewel case, i'm guessing nobody really prints them out anyhow. if you want, just cut and paste one of these and match your size to that.
