Hixter
A few months ago, Pete Townshend's blog listed Wilco as one of his favorite bands. On tour with The Who once again, Mr. T had this to say in today's Ottawa Citizen: Q: Are there any young guitarists out there today whothrill you? Who do you listen to in the car? A: I like a lot of new guitar players. It's hard tolisten to guitar players who are better than me and Ican hear them free at almost any decent music store. In my car I listen to Yo-Yo Ma (especially with EdgarMeyer), Wilco, Flaming Lips, Sufjan Stevens, MarthaWainwright, Sean Lennon, Sigur Ros, Buddy Guy. Ilisten to a lot of jazz and orchestral music too. Theusual classic stuff. For new jazz I go to BBC Radio 3in the UK. For new orchestral writing the samestation. There are late night shows now that play themost incredibly innovative music. The entire interview is here.

Hummingbird
Perhaps Pete can help persuade WILCO to come and play at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore. The WHO are one of the main acts...and Keane just dropped off the ticket b/c the singer is in REHAB....seeing that the DC show just sold out in mere seconds...wouldn't it be nice to have WILCO play a larger venue with his buddy Pete? I'm all over it !!! http://www.virginfestival.com/ quote name='Hixter' date='Sep 14 2006, 10:20 AM' post='759909']A few months ago, Pete Townshend's blog listed Wilco as one of his favorite bands. Except that Nels and Glenn have a show the same day in Columbus OH.

awatt
Thanks for posting the Letterman performance. The Who, or really Pete and Roger, were not as bad as I feared. And I must say I enjoyed Pete's guitar work on this one.
