Synthesizer Patel
Next up, the other CD I got delivered today:Â I really like this album. Pulp never really clicked with me much, but this is a good release. What do you think?
explodo
Here we go... first listen... Super mega excellent. Somewhere up in my top ten, possibly as high as number two. Most likely will end up five-ish.

What do you think? I like it a lot, but I've always been a fan of Pulp / Jarvis... thought he was good on Jools Holland last week too, a rare highlight on last weeks show. It feels like an old fashioned album...

It feels like an old fashioned album... I missed that. I've had enough of Jools Holland I think, I've given it more chances than it deserves already. It does feel like an old fashioned album, I think that's probably why I like it actually.
Welsh Rich
For sure - the work he did with Scott Walker seems to have rubbed off a bit... it would have been a great loss if Jarvis had just disappeared, a great lyricist.
rghammo
The Hold Steady - Separation Sunday I still think the new one is heads and shoulders above both the others but they are growing on me. Maybe I'll change my mind though because I've only just gotten into them.

jimtweedy1977
Clifford Brown & Max Roach-self-titled. Although I got a copy of this a while back, this is the first listen. This is perfect late night music. It swings but it's also really mellow.
